I haven't researched but I am sure we have had goals from most positions in lineups.

Yeah sure, not so many from the right wing though.

Roberts scoring 2 from his last 60 odd games just isn't enough for me.

I would also say we could do with more goal threat from the centre midfield positions. Hoping Le Fee offers that when he comes back in.

Didn't just hold on, we could/should have had 2 more late on.

Mayenda put one one a player for Wilson but his touch was poor and the chance was gone

Bargain. Right handful, strength, pace and decent enough finish. I think his finishing and decision making will improve with experience.

He also seems to love being appreciated here.

If you dig deep enough you will find negatives try a different spade and you may find the positives.

If you look through my posts I'm pretty positive. I think I've said three or four times in the last few days that there is a whole lot to be excited about.

But if we want to kick on we need a right winger who scores goals more than Roberts is currently scoring goals. That can be Roberts. I don't want him chasing out of the club but I want more goal threat from that position than we are currently seeing.

That, to me, is not negative at all and frankly I find it baffling that it's even a point of contention.

I have watched his goal a couple of times again this morning. It is fantastic forward play. He finds space between two defenders. His first touch is great. Then his pace of the switch and shot, which is right into the corner is devastating. Not many defenders in the prem are stopping that tbh.

I was so impressed witg him at the start of the season. The whole team seemed to relish his all round play. The injury was a real shame and then Isidor got in and since then he has had to be patient. Now though he is showing his talent and natural attributes. We have a real prospect on our hands here.

I was trying to think of a similar striker from the past. I like to make a comparison or two. Mayenda is strong and quick. He isnt the biggest but still is good in the air. His positioning in the box is very good and he seems a confident lad. He is also good at linking with others. A bit of Rooney about him I think. Maybe a bit of David Villa from his own country too.

Anyway, we are lucky to have him and the others, joy to watch.

He has strength and pace. More often than not it's one or the other but not both, players who have both like that and can find a pass, hold up the ball and finish are destined for great things.

Just had a look and his last post was this, below, on the 21st Feb, from the 'non-Sunderland games' thread ... not seen him since.

Shame, he's probably the clearest on here who can analyse a game.

People just tire of the relentless negativity on thread after thread ...

... we're not the best team and won't just keep on spending, they're the facts so get used to it.

I agree with all of that although his heading isn't great imo ...

... but he keeps improving the other aspects, of his game, so no reason for that to be any different.

I was more concerned about Old Sandy, does Snaggey usually keep in touch with him?

You're right about Mayenda ... improving, has obviously worked hard and listened to the coaches.

Yet another example of why we shouldn't keep writing players off so readily ...

... I remember Mayenda being declared 'unfit for purpose' and people saying his contract should be terminated.

He's now probably worth £10m so that would've been idiotic in the extreme.

I popped over to see him in december, and messaged him at Christmas and he hadn't been too well.
I've just looked and was last seen today at 11.14 am, so that's good.
    If you're reading @Oldsandy, hope you're ok.

To be honest I don't think he knew what he was doing. There were only 4 options. A penalty to us, a free kick to them, a corner or a goal kick. The lines woman gave the corner, no one appealed for a foul, both sets of players were lining up for a corner, then he blew up and called some players to him. At the time I thought he was either awarding us a penalty or a fee kick to them, but then he gave the drop ball? Definitely the strangest decision I've seen, I don't think anyone knew what was going on.

That's the second totally baffling, and unexplained, refereeing decision after the 'ghost goal' at Derby.

We really need to ask about these before it ends up costing us a point/game/promotion ...

... no point bolting the stable door, etc.
