A bad landing at the last did for the Mullins horse in the opener but the Art of Payroll is miles ahead of the assessor. Lovely Carberry ride as well to protect the mark. Any Cheltenham entries do we know?
Well done Bob, you sure didnt steal that one from me? Sure I put that up as a nice animal the day it ran against Diakili
If you did mate then we both have good eyes. I didn't know it existed till the last day when it's run was frankly ridiculous.
Who? I was just looking and county hurdle is where I thought he must be going. Will he get in though? What's his English mark?
garydoescheltenham text it to me. He is gave me Storm Survivor yesterday but I text him back that Night In Milan would win that, so wish I had done the forecast! He will have a penalty now Bob so that should just about get him in I would think!
His English mark is 130 and he'll get a 5lb penalty for today so he may get in...he would still need another 38 to come out but that is possible. Shout Bob
Oh yeah.....good shout Bob Great weekend for Lawney Hills yard. Billy Twyford was a really game winner yesterday, owned by one of the nicest gentlemen you could ever wish to meet, and Chapolimoss has fairly hosed up today. Her husband has Harbour Court in the Foxhunters so he wont have been too unhappy about todays news!
That mark looks reasonable but I won't profess to have much knowledge about handicaps. Not my bag most of the time. Cheers lads.
Ive gave this a good write up in my Cheltenham preview thingy, but thinking people are surely going to see this glitch in the Matrix before Saturday when that comes out. Don Cossack 16/1 for the RSA!! The PJ Moriarty is a great trail for this, coming in with an absolutely perfect profile, a monster of a horse who jumps those fences for fun and arguably the class horse in the race. I said before the Moriarty, he was by far the most likely festival winner of the 3 running, the small field and easy lead was always going to suit Ballycasey who is never an RSA horse. The Don was punted from 5/2 into Evens to win that race and he ran as well as could be expected, he was given a little break before the race and it was a perfect prep, he showed plenty and just got outpaced by a faster horse who was gifted the race by default really. He looks tailormade for the RSA and he might even be a Gold Cup horse next year, the sky looked the limit on his first chase start and then he just got done by Morning Assembly in a Grade 1 after travelling and jumping the best and that one is half the price here! The reputation he has always had, im amazed he has become a forgotten horse for the race that you could have said 2 or 3 years ago was going to be HIS race.
Interesting way of looking at the race Boris. You might be right. I was impressed by Ballycasey but can see it the other way round.
I've seen the Don in the flesh a number of times and he's one big muthaf....Might be something, might be nothing but with the way he's built I wonder will he handle the undulations of the track. Like I say it's just a tiny nagging doubt...
