Oddy: Maybe 'soft' is his limit, but I'll swear Cue Card is at his very best on an easy surface. I agree with caution at Kempton as I am not at all sure he likes this track. We'll have to wait and see.............
I wouldn't be in a rush to back him at that price for the King George but you cannot crab what he did on Saturday. Gradually one by one they all cracked. Three out I thought SILVINIACO CONTI was going to run away with it but he found nothing. I have no doubt that he will be more finely tuned for the KG and GC. Its good to see such decent competition at this level. I didn't see any posts about LONG RUN but I stand by what I said at the start of the season in that we have seen the best of him and he isn't able to maintain the bar he once set. Henderson spoke about the National for him. I am sure many on here would love to see the dentist in The Chair!
Very happy with Moyle Park's hurdling debut. Did it easily and he has room for improvement in the jumping department. Cannot believe the bookies only trimmed him to 16/1 (or 14s NRFB with Betvictor) for the Supreme. I'm already on at 20s but have gone in again at 16s tonight and I'd highly recommend that people follow suit. Toppy Moyle Park has loads of stamina in his pedigree but can be quite keen so Willie is keeping him to 2m (for the time being). Faugheen and Briar Hill also have a lot of stamina in their pedigrees so I think the former will go Neptune route and the latter to the AB. Things can change but very happy with the horse. I think he's an absolute beast.
With the new 'lightweight' fences in the National I could see Long Run as a major contender in that race.. the fences of old I would say no chance! As Swanny says above Im not convinced Cue Card is suited by Kempton. I reckon Dynaste will be majorly suited by it and it was his first run of the season on Saturday compared with Cue Cards 2nd run so improvement to come for me.. I fancy Al Ferof at this stage ... he'll come on a bundle for his race on Saturday after a year off the track. Has a lot of class and smashed the field in last years Paddy Power Gold Cup. Can jump with a bit of exhuberence too...
