Carriganog in the next at Navan - a cheeky scoop at 7/2. By far the best form in the race and I reckon this is one of the main reasons McCoy is in Ireland today.
I saw him land the odds at Wexford LTO Oddy...lovely looking beast, not surprising given where he originated. Difficult to get a handle on the form though.
What a lovely performance from Apache Stronghold. With better jumping he would be very nice. He reminded me of my favourite- Monksland (in the same colours) who I hope we will see win the World Hurdle this season.
Gotta love Paul Carberry - never moved a muscle on Apache Stronghold. Gonna make a lovely chaser one day that thing - fecking huge. Sometimes wish McCoy would just give a horse a quiet ride - he was firing Carriganog into his hurdles and then pulling him back on the flat, can't imagine that improves his bloody chances.
Well done Bob- just remembered you put it up much earlier than I did! Think we will see him in any proper Grade 1 novice events or is that weak form?
Carrig Millie in the Handicap chase at Navan. Plenty with chances but I was very impressed with this one's win at Punchy last season. Was put into a listed event first time out this season where there were several horses rated 20 lb higher so I suspect that was just a pipe opener. Only 8lb higher than her last win and should give me a nice spin at 20s for my EW speculation.
Good picking Bob I refuse to aftertime other than to say one of those above was 8-1 yesterday evening Mullins young horses must be the envy of every National Hunt in the UK/Ireland. You literally can't beat his better ones out at the minute, talk about red hot stable form But can he keep them all in form throughout the whole season is the challenge?? We know Nicky generally builds his up throughout the year but if Mullins' horses maintain their form you'd struggle to see a novice event at the Festival where he doesn't have something with a cracking chance. The strength and depth of his bumper horses, novice hurdlers and novice chasers is truly, and as SBC would say, truly with a capital T, staggering.
Some cracking shouts on paddy racing here today fellas. Without wishing to make it look like a clique.....a very well done to the man who calls himself champ
