Apologies had a very urgent phone call and rushed the last bit, now added in the bit I missed out. Can you name that team?

I am not interested in any team other BCFC and they had an incredibly poor second half and LJ paid with his job and quite rightly.

What will be interesting is if Holden loses a pivotal player in January and how he copes with that. But like LJ he knows exactly what he was taking on.

A view about my team, a team I have followed for 62 years, I have seen many managers come and go, some great, some good, some ok and some appalling, some well backed by boards and some not so, that's the nature of the beast, you pretty much know the lay of the land going in and in exceptional circumstances you ask like Oliver Twist for more, sometimes you get and sometimes you don't.

We are very lucky we have a very tolerant and supportive owner and if he felt that the time was right for a change then I suspect that his patience must have been pushed.

I have listed what I believe to be LJ's major achievements and those achievements have moved the club forward and I will always be grateful for that. But ultimately like most managers in all 4 leagues and even the lower leagues, he who pays the bills has a end goal and all the tolerance and supportiveness in the world will not last forever, the way things are going with the premiership, I suspect that we have an ever shrinking window of opportunity and I am sure that SL is well aware of that.

Thankyou for your expected reply. The answer to the question is Brentford, they were nailed on to finish top or second. Their form was so bad in the last few games they play us shortly.

LJ did well for us, he left with us in a better position than when he joined , but every manager has a ‘shelf life’ and his was up. Personally I think they chose the correct time to get rid of him, although I wish they’d spent the time before the end of the season to find a more appropriate replacement.

Ahh Brentford a team with close to half of our budget but the foresight to sign Ollie Watkins and sell on at a very high profit to enable them to sign Ivan Toney, whilst we in a panic used almost half of our 'king pin' fee on a striker now 30 years and very streaky.

Brentford are a VERY well run outfit - I'm impressed with their setup for sure - but we didn't do too badly ourselves on Kodjia, Kelly and Reid - plus a few others Jiffie…….

And I agree, my point is in probably his last throw of the dice and replying to somebody who talked about LJ losing his 'kingpin' in January, we signed a striker who is now 30 years of age and who is streaky and not playing very well and they managed to sign Ivan Toney, I know who I would rather have.

For some reason striker is the one position, other than possibly Kodja, weve struggled to “bring on” players, hopefully Somenyo will buck that particular trend.

who is this mystery person talking about king pins? and what is the relationship between the 2, a kingpin midfielder who gelled the team and a striker who in the team he played for was scoring because they had a midfield that would supply him the ammo?

Re: strikers - Wells was top scorer in the league when we signed him. He's still scoring now, but isn't bagging anywhere near the tally he was at QPR. Maybe we should look at how QPR played him - what service he was getting (ie being fed through the middle, or crosses from the wings etc) and try to replicate that?

First of all let me offer up a heart felt apology, I put king pin when in fact it should read centre pin (I must have been thinking about Netflix the crown) at the time, but post 39 should solve your mystery.

I agree with the last sentence, but it doesn't offer the answer for his several misses including a penalty already this season.

unfortunately us mortals all have flaws ... we cannot always be perfect, Wells is a mortal. Should you wish to thread a needle, then at some point someone has to supply the cotton ............... why be so pedantic as to keep on about him missing a penalty or having x number of misses... he is not in anyway unique in that way at all.

It was in reply to your pedantic reply about a midfield unable to supply him like his previous club did.

Yeh, I didn’t mention Abraham because I meant our players, obviously he improved under our guidance but other than his performances we didn’t gain anything from his improvement.
