Iwatched it mate. They've always been known as one of the best bands. But to answer windy. let him watch this this, a peaceful mob. I was actually in S.Armargh when this happened.
I couldn't watch that mate, if it is what i think it is, where the two guys were in the cab were pulled out by those animals.
This is hardly a unique situation in that regard. If anyone deserves justice then it suggests a crime has been committed. If a crime has been committed it should be punished even if other similar crimes can’t/won’t be.
Thought so. Am i correct in remembering they had hand guns and refused to use them, and lost their lives as a result.
Not everyone on all sides have had justice though. And at the same time plenty of IRA have been brought to justice, it's not like nobody from the IRA never went to prison. I know we can quote personal accounts of people killed, but equally there are many in Northern Ireland on all sides who witnessed - family, friends, school children killed, homes and schools destroyed, that have also not seen justice. That doesn't sway the argument one way or the other. The only reason from what I understand (and I could be wrong) the IRA are no longer open to prosecution is the Good Friday agreement. A line was drawn underneath it. The ONLY strong argument against prosecuting the armed forces is they should be extended the same immunity.
I’d have guessed manslaughter but he’s being tried for murder. I don’t know why I need to reiterate this but there’s a fair chance the bloke won’t be found guilty.
they did mate, at one part in the video he drops it, a single shot goes of, but then they hound him, beat him to a pulp, strip him ,drag him over walls ans shoot him. All in the name of peace of course.
Great post..So if they have it, why after 47 years is a 70ish fella, seeing out his time in life about to be turned upside down?
Not much i don't remember about them murdering barstards. In fact i could probably quote you many of their atrosities without the need of our good old friend google. Maidstone, one of their early cowardly attacks, one of the IRA's learning blocks that bombing on civi street wins you no support. Especially as most people at the time had mixed views on Ireland. Deal, killed a load of bandsman, another cowardly attack. Hyde Park, several years before Deal, where the cowards killed more bandsmen and horses. Eventually the IRA went up market, and blew the **** out of the City instead, only then did the government concede, although it will never be admited because the damage was running into millions.
The time isn't an issue for me tbh Comm. Not as the sole reason for not prosecuting IF he's committed a crime. Plenty of examples of people that have acted criminally in wars that have been brought to justice decades later, including WW2 (btw the time issue is all I'm comparing here NOT the nature of the crime). Look, I think the soldiers should have immunity justice like the IRA have. That's my sense of justice. And as I said earlier, the government acknowledging Bloody Sunday as an atrocity with an apology was enough. Someone from the government should've made some contact with the victims of the IRA who haven't seen justice, as well as the families of the victims of Bloody Sunday and explained why this was necessary for the sake of peace. And then everyone has some form of recognition and closure.
aye, bands, and horses, nails and manure extortion rackets, torture, bombings, organised crime, random murders, the list is endless mate
