    I will (hopefully) be at Newmarket for the 2013 English 1000 Guineas and there is every possibility that the prize will be heading overseas – to Ireland.

    TheGroup 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes went to a British filly, Sky Lantern, whose form looks great – when it runs in Ireland – but the supposed top-draw Irish contenders now look ordinary.

    On Saturday at Leopardtown, Famous Name’s sister Big Break won a maiden race in a common canter and her trainer, Dermot Weld, immediately nominated the English fillies’ classic as the objective. Given the right sort of ground (i.e. not bottomless) she may be the one.
