Very much looking forward to the Group 1 Phoenix stakes at 3.50 in the Curragh. Air Force Blue is the one I backed tonight at 11/4. Buratino sets a fine high standard but I feel Air Force Blue could have the progression to surpass him this time around and the form of the O'Brien stable recently strengthens my belief he can turn around the Ascot running especially with a little ease underfoot.

Eighteen Summers at 4/1 in the 4.50 has a penalty to carry for a facile success LTO at Cork, but he did that so well, he gave the impression he is up to taking another step forward. He may not get away so easily on the front this time but he can register his 2nd successive victory here with Robbie Downey taking the 5 off his back.

All the best lads and lasses.

Little bit of a mental one this but I've backed Zebstar 50/1 in the 3:50 at The Curragh. Had a decent win on debut and although this is a much much better race I think it could snatch a place at a huge price. Hopefully it stays at 8 runners for the 3 places

Any of you picked up that Par Smullen rides ZENSTAR for Gay Kelleway in the Phoenix? Quarter Monn??? I know my lady trainers from the haziest of descriptions lol lol

Remember that discussion in the aftermath of King George day at Ascot? The woman trainer looking to book Pat Smullen for the Phoenix Stakes – looks like it was Gay Kelleway and the horse is Zebstar. Should we be having a little tickle each-way at 50/1? The race is a graveyard for British runners (last win 1997) but it could sneak a place.

Anyone tell me who was the last British raider to take the Phoenix stakes? No Gooooogling!!

It was Princely Heir (trained by Mark Johnston). Aidan O’Brien has won the race thirteen times since then. I read the write-up yesterday in the Racing Post.

Yep it sure was, ridden by Jason Weaver. Can Buratino repeat the trick today then remains to be seen.

How High The Moon, a full sister to Diamondsandrubies makes her debut in the 2.50 today also. Seamie get's the leg up as Joseph can't do the weight.

Ruby Walsh lads. Ruby Walsh. Peerless :)

The boy definitely has a future that's for sure. I didn't know they raced over jumps in Aus. I suspect the commentator may have had few Aussie dollars on the Ruby mount.
Have joined the punt on Zebstar over at the Curragh. Can't win surely but maybe a bit of each way thievery? Good luck all having a punt today.

I must be out of my miniscule mind. David Allan gets beaten regularly when I am on anything he is riding. He got beaten in the Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle on MATTMU, so why am I expecting him to get it right today in what might be a stronger race at The Curragh 4:20?

Afternoon cowboys.Decent looking card at the kura but wont be having any bets today. My only bet will be Arsenal minus 2 v West Ham at 2s.The hammers have been very poor in pre season whereas Arsenal have been in great form and can see us giving them an absolute spanking today.
