You wouldn't want to get too carried away with the Midterm Sandown form when you consider the 3rd and 5th from it got lapped at Chester by the Ballydoyle pair....
I have backed Midterm ante post for the Derby (on the strength of him being Midday’s son) but I totally agree. If he had won by a street at Sandown he would be a worthy Derby favourite but he has actually inherited favouritism because US Army Ranger was unimpressive at Chester. He still has it all to do in the Dante and I would not have a penny on him at the odds currently available there.
Unless something wins the Dante impressively, I can see the Derby being 4/1 the field on the course on 4th June.
