I must say it is fantastic to see Energumene back today (after 593 days absence) in what will be just his 16th start under rules as a 10 year old - low mileage or what? If he retains his ability the 10/1 for him re the Champion Chase has to be of interest, especially if it came up testing. But of course we don't yet know if he retains his ability and we don't know if it will come up testing so that's why you can get 10/1.
First step is to win today and he is joined in the field by fellow Closutton "crock" Ferny Hollow who has had just the 1 run in nearly 3 years. Should be a fascinating contest and amazing that Mullins runs 6 of the 8 (all rated north of 150) - just a shame that Elliott, de Bromhead et al don't have a runner.
