Another Ted Lasso fan! Do you know the guy that plays Baz is a local (grew up in Chandlers Ford). Not sure if he would count himself as a Saints fan though as he always got stroppy with me if I was ever talking about football in Youth Theatre together.
Ah diddums. Now go **** yourself you lazy, arrogant prick. Those words might be genuine from someone like Fernandes but not from you you absolute ****.
Coming from a bloke who’s only ever given a **** about himself, and will be out as quick as possible (if someone actually wants him?) Thankfully we’ll probably never see him play again. And those supporters of ours cheered him like a hero when he came on this season
The same supporters who have booed both Smallbone & Stephens I expect. Like I said the other day, some of our fans deserve a **** season like this.
I notice Jack has come out and said that they didn't deserve the good reception at the end yesterday. I make him right on that. Found it a bit strange how many people were applauding them if I'm honest.
The last relegation no one applauded. This time though we are SO bad that we find togetherness in it. And relegation was confirmed Away and not Home like last year
Sadly some of our fans would clap a player of,even if he took a deckchair and newspaper on the pitch with him, which to be fair, many have appeared like that this season.
I got the feeling the reception was more a love for the club, than a "oh well done lads, you tried" if I'm honest (but appreciate I wasn't there so maybe I'm wrong there )
I wasn’t there but was told by someone who was, that’s fans were having selfies with players at the end and even saw some having them with Juric??
Yeah the general feeling was more of a "Southampton till I die" then an appreciation of the players. Don't get me wrong some noddy twats still clapped them at the end but we all knew we were down since December, I think a lot of the anger is gone. Not for me though. I maturely threw up middle fingers and stropped off in search of more beer
Interesting the reaction to our fans applauding the team. I’ve always taken the view that my team are pretty **** most of the time (supporter since 1958, so I’ve seen some) but I will support anyone wearing the badge if they are putting in a shift. Seems to me most others are the same, but the outliers are those who through some bizarre sense of entitlement think we should be competing with Real Madrid and will try to destroy a player’s confidence (Redmond for example) if he’s not turning out world class performances. The problem currently, I believe, is that we have a lot of pretty poor players. The management must take responsibility for that. To have managed to create a team of not-quite-good-enough is remarkable.
