I like the chances of Minella Drama in the Colin Parker. He relished similar conditions when dotting up in a Grade 2 at Haydock.

Really looking forward to seeing Silver Hallmark in the 3:05. This is the horse Fergal has most faith in and it’s safe to say last season didn’t go to plan, he is very lightly raced and the key here is that this is a prep run for chasing targets ahead (PPGC and the Hennessy mentioned).

That said, he has a split handicap mark and that is very exploitable for a horse who beat McFabulous in a novice hurdle. He is rated 134 today and I’m pretty sure he can be a 155+ horse on ability.

I took an early price today, and will be happy if we have all runners lining up!

I agree but wholestone with a very good conditional from the pointing field gives the edge for me. Fascinating race with the Sam Thomas runner wholestone ew.

Ben Bromley with 7 or Adam Wedge off levels. I know which one I’d be wanting to be riding every day of the week.

Wholestone is a favourite of mine, but this trip on quicker than ideal ground will take a hell of a performance from the old boy. I hope this is a prep for a 3 mile hurdle at Haydock for the old boy.

2:30 is a great little race, with Bear Ghylls making his chase debut. He has been widely touted as a potential top class chaser in the making, and today he starts in a rare intermediate chase. This listed race doesn't look a one horse race, and I really like Beauport who brings to the table big field & top tier handicap hurdle form. Beauport is another that i think can excel over fences and that makes this race very intriguing.

Then you throw in a Grade 1 winning chaser in Millers Bank!! How many listed races like this would have a Grade 1 winner as third favourite? He is hit and miss, and that is probably why he runs here, and why he is third in the market.

Next in the market is a Grade 2 winning chaser in Minella Drama! This is a quality race. The Ultima Winner is fifth in the market!!

One of the early season highlights for me Nass - it regularly attracts good horses and Carlisle is a lovely track with challenging fences. There was quite a discussion around these intermediate chases a few years back but, sadly, they often end up as very small field affairs with little competition. It was probably Henderson moaning now I come to think of it.

Elliott's Deeply Superficial is a warm order in the opening Mares novice hurdle at Galway. Cost £385,000 as a 4YO. Probably looking to get some black type ASAP and off to the owners Alymer Stud.

Nice beginners chase over there too.

Quicker than ideal? He’s a mud lark.

Carlisle
13,58 Lovely Moon 11/2
15,40 Seven No Trumps 11/2

Galway
14,20 Hoke Colburn 6/1 bet365, 5/1 others
16,05 Blanketontheground 9/2

For what it's worth, (nothing, I guess), poor fare today with fields reduced to ridiculous levels. However, the very best of luck to the choices of the above loyal NH enthusiasts. Will take a Pause today (Ireland always too difficult for me!)

Getting more testing by the minute by the looks of it

I couldn’t make head nor tail of that race, they finished in a really slow time but they are racing on the flat track and it’s looking soggy!

I’d be happier backing Wholestone after watching that, but I’m quite happy with it for Silver Hallmark too.

A walk-over for Pentland Hills then. Shame Henderson didn't enter Jonbon as well, we'd have had a race then.

Cracking race the Colin Parker and Beauport did that really well. Donald might want to get Minella Drama's wind done, went out like a light after travelling really nicely at the front.

Unfortunately he didn’t pick up at all in the straight. Travelled into it nicely and then nothing. Wholestone on the other hand picked up nicely and had he had another half mile he’d have carried on finding for pressure.

Henderson at it again with his novice chasers in the aftermath of Pentland Hills walkover. Tough that the horse gets a penalty for a walkover but come on Nicky there is a 2 mile novice chase at Cheltenham’s November meeting - the November Novice Chase. You won it in 2012 with Captain Conan. Stop having us on.
