So the flat feels like it is petering out at the moment. With the St Leger far from exciting anyone, and a Champions Day run in bizarre conditions and at a silly time of the season, there is only Treves hat-trick bid for the Arc left.

When does National Hunt actually start? <laugh>

I am sure someone will like this: texted ManU fan to tell them title was going to City expecting no reply but got "Yep - give the title to City can't see Palace & Leicester putting up a fight".

Keep telling myself it's only August they don't hand out titles this soon etc but City look like could be out of sight come Christmas. Of course with CL starting, a few injuries here and there they could get halted somewhat but realistically it'll take a Jose special from Chelsea to overhaul them.

Early days Beefy. City are one of those sides that look unbeatable in full flow but they have the cold weather to navigate where they will need to roll their sleeves up a little bit and if they lose one they usually begin to get the wobbles. Chelsea have looked one-dimensional to me so far and a key reason IMO is that Fabregas just looks miles off the pace. Pedro will be a big plus for them in the end though as he gives them more pace. They will come back into it with some typical narrow wins through the winter I would think.

Arsenal still have the same frailties and desperately need some leadership in centre midfield and centre half. They may yet surprise you and steal Berahino from my boys on Tuesday which will give them a genuine, genuine goalscorer (the kid is a natural) because Spurs have unbelievably spent £22m on a Korean forward <yikes>. Arsenal would be serious players if they got those 3 things sorted.

Although they had a mare at the weekend, Liverpool have looked to have a decent balance to their side but I just cannot see Henderson being the key man in any title winning side. Utd still lack a ruthless edge and I suspect they are probably one more season away from being title contenders.

Some interesting moves in the transfer betting:

Charlie Austin 4/7 to move to Man Utd, Stones now 1/7 to stay with Everton and in a lower profile but bizarre move Joleon Lescott is 1/7 to switch from WBA to Aston Villa!

Couple of bets I like for fun:

    Jordan Rhodes- Sunderland (5/1)

    Kevin Nolan (Derby-20/1)

    Saido Berahino (Arsenal-33/1)

As a fan of the way they play I'd love Arsenal to get in the mix but as you say they lack the leadership, or I'd even suggest mindset/bottle to get points when they aren't having the rub of the green. Chelsea can't be ruled out as you can never rule out Jose, the old rascal. My side Liverpool aren't going to be winning it as we leak soft goals and just are a level below. United probably aren't doing what they should as they've a good squad but doubtless LVG will ensure they get CL football again. I think there going to struggle to stay competitive in the PL and CL after Christmas. Still think City will win it by 6pts at least unless they finally achieve their CL ambitions ie getting into at least the quarters. That might take their focus away. It's rumoured Jose mightn't be on the safest of footing under Roman, IF and the moment he does go I'd be wrapping light blue ribbons round the trophy!

Kevin Nolan is completely lost now that Big Sam is not there to follow round!

Before a ball was kicked I thought it was Chelsea or Man City. Chelsea may get in Stones for silly money as they are leaking goals.

Arsenal need a proper 25-30 goal striker if they are going to keep playing through the middle.

Liverpool are also-rans and Rodgers will not last the season.

nor should it - he is going nowhere. A far better bet is QPR to go up. Playing without fear, looking very good and already seem to have banished the demons. Made some good signings too.

Sure hope you're right, Dan, but the real tests are yet to come. So, haven't got a big 'ead yet, and will try to keep it screwed-on throughout the season..........:emoticon-0100-smile

(This Dutch boy, Chery, sure knows where the goal is though?).

Chery looks good and Toszer is a tidy player with a great attitude and Angella should help shore the defence up a bit.
