I've just re-looked at the video of Romeo as a foal. Do you still have him?

Maarek's trainer Evanna McCutcheon won the Lady's Derby at The Curragh on Zeftan. Gave the horse a cracking ride. Delighted for her and hopefully she has lots of success in both codes.

Moderate first half...hard to know what to make of the Dusssshhhh...either kicking lumps out of people or shamelessly diving.

Either way they have been disappointing thus far.

Great comeback by Holland, what a game! Shows European teams can do it, even under oppressive conditions. Mexico played well but the only way they seemed able to stop Robben was to foul him. They got away with until the last minute when it was one foul too much. Bravo Holland, brave performance! <applause>

The game? Or Dexter's assessment of the first half? I thought he was bang on with what he said

Robben is a cheating little ****er, always has been always will be. I do hope the Dutch go out to a dubious penalty awarded against them. One small ray of sunshine on the World Cup punting front is that Bet365 are refunding all wins/ew bets if your selection goes out on pens. I had no idea until I checked my balance. Tempted to reinvest on Columbia at 12s now. They're up against it in the quarters but would love to see them progress.

Yes. We wouldn't be letting any go until they are at least 2 years old. For the time being, our foals are bred as part of a long term breeding plan so we would only part with them if we had an offer we couldn't refuse and had the breeding line covered. Romeo, being the first son of our homebred stallion and the first son of our Dancing Brave granddaughter, is special to us and won't be going anywhere.

We had a nice surprise recently. Our founder broodmare and mother of our stallion, was a European 148cm pony and, although we didn't have her pedigree, she always looked like a horse and we were convinced she was bred as a horse. We have now learned that her great grandfather on the dam side was no less than Northern Dancer.

That penalty did look like a dive. But earlier there was a very clumsy lunge on Robben in the penalty area which, had he just kept running, would have resulted in a cast iron penalty. But, the little ****er, leapt over the lunging feet of the defender and kept going. The penalty he should have had, he managed to avoid. Felt sorry for Mexico though. Brilliant performance from them.

I will first confess to a total bias – I had a double riding on Holland.

There is no doubt in my mind that Robben dived for the penalty that won Holland the game. The ball had gone three yards beyond him so he did the dying swan act.

That said, he should have had a genuine penalty earlier on when two Mexican players tackled him and he went down under the second challenge and was awarded nothing.

On the second occasion that he went down for a penalty, I thought that was equally opportunistic as he got up after the first challenge, continued into the box and then fell over the leg of a defender who was laying on the ground.

That just goes to highlight the poor standard of the officiating at this tournament. Nonetheless, I will still be collecting my double winnings...

Just watched the replay of his run and you've got to say that he was a tad unlucky not to pip the winner, lost by a narrow length... Plus the drift to 14/1 from my initial 8/1 made the day a little bit better...<cheers>

Marquez did make minimal contact with Robben's foot, and if you do that with this guy it's curtains. Once he felt contact, he dived, for sure.

He was going down before the contact too. Fifa really should start to punish this... its cheating just like what Suarez did.
