Pontefract 4.30pm Diamond Dougal 5/1. Stiff finish will play to his strengths I feel and with decent claimer taking weight off has a decent chance in what is a competitive little event.

It's been a great Tour this year mainly as i don't think many would have predicted most of the outcomes, wins etc... Just wished AlanPhilip, or however you spell his name, had hung on and won it... Good Tour, great finish, and a good winner...

Just a thought smokey. £100k may only be pocket money to them but I would have thought it would be enough to shorten up the price. She is showing 12/1, so I guess they aren't on yet and will be waiting to make sure she is 100% on the day and risk a lower price. If I'm right we should be looking for a late plunge on the day, with an idea from where the money came

Absolutely, first class and can’t fault the write-up, old boy. Let this be a template for anyone else ding an ‘I’ve been told…’. All I’ve ever asked, re this type of ‘info’, is for a decent write up like this to be given. Nothing more.

Runs in the race, at the weekend, named after a former King’s mistress – The Lillie Lantry (12/1 currently available I note). That leads us to today’s (on yesterday’s thread admittedly) quiz question. Name the other UK Group race named after a former King’s mistress.

Is the correct answer. Top marks, old boy.

  17. <laugh> I had posted about a race at Newbury yesterday that I watched in the pub with the sound turned down. There were only 6 runners and 5 were sporting the Al Makhtoum colours. Couldn't find a record of it after I posted so thought I may have been going mad and deleted the post to save any embarrassment. Turns out it was an Arab race day!
