Many a hotpot gets turned over though, especially in the Supremes: Cue Card and the Tent last year are also good examples! Will be a very open looking Festival starting, though if Nicholls' Irving bolts up in the Betfair he'll likely go very short a la the Tent last year.
A belated hello from me - just got back and watched the recording of the Irish CH. I have to eat some humble pie now and say that the best horse won, no excuses, and I can't realistically see the positions being reversed in March. I can HOPE they are, but that's about all Well done Fly supporters I'll wait until after the event before changing my sig if that's ok with erverybody
Beefy, I see you live in N Ireland. In my young days I went there with a friend and we stayed at one of his relatives in a place called Limavady. We went to a really lovely, and massive, beach at a place called Downhill but I can't find it on Google maps. Do you know the area? We visited several places. Saw the Orange Men march looking down from a bridge (can't remember where that was, possibly Londonderry). Weren't allowed to take the car into S Ireland so parked up and walked over the border. I also remember the road from Limavady to Coleraine was a bit dangerous as one could get shot. It was so long ago that where we were cars were a bit of a novelty and we used to get looked at quite a lot. The one thing that struck me was everyone was so friendly (other than those that shot people but we didn't see them).
Absolutely, we won't know until March! No excuses today at all (or last time)- Fly won these fair and square- my only question is the distance between Captain Cee Bee and the rest! Our Conor would need another 15% improvement to beat Fly at Chelts IMO and I'm not sure there is that much to come
Glad someone mentioned Pont Alexandre. This time last year i kept being told that he was unbeatable and that my boy had no chance! Where is Pont now by the way? I genuinely dont know!
Got injured before the season started, will miss full season, and was "always going to be a chaser" apparently so novice chases next season probably next time we will see him.
Good to hear you a pleasant stay Ron. I'd be quite familiar with that area of the province Ron, around Downhill there'd be a lot of golden sandy beaches stretching eastwards along from where you were. If you were near Londonderry you probably were only at the start of the coastal region. Gets more populated and touristy along the coast as you head eastwards, if you'd have headed about another 20 miles you'd have found Northern Ireland's own version of Blackpool, good old Portrush! Lovely drives around the Causeway Coastal route where you'll find places like the Giant's Causeway. Times have certainly changed for the better Ron, you'd be safe enough driving into the Republic now! Thankfully the people with the guns have now decided to move forward and the wee place isn't really doing too badly at all
