oH i ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM. What a battler. Our Connor looked great but the boyo kicked on and there was never any doubt two steps after the last.
Show me the horse that will outbattle Hurricane Fly up Cheltenham hill and I'll show you a liar. What a performance , Our Conor came full of running and just could not get by.
Jezki - very similar horse to The New One and My Tent or Yours. Run against the Fly twice now and has had no chance on both occasions. Champion Hurdle challengers The Fly Annie Power Our Connor
That race has only convinced me more that the fly wont be winning at Cheltenham in March. He battled well today but i will be amazed if Our Conor finishes behind him again at the festival. The fact Captain Cee Bee was about 3 lengths down at the end says all you need to know about the form of that race.
Can't fault the fly's attitude, but he'll need to be better than that at Cheltenham. Quite happy with the 4/1 I have for TNO, and will top up if they go bigger. Jezki flatters to deceive, hes not in the same class as Tent, Fly, TNO, or the Power mare
If I had money on the Fly for Cheltenham I wouldn't be too confident after that, but we have to wonder how much training he missed with the bruised foot and therefore how much more there is to come. If that was anywhere near the best he is now able to run he won't be winning the Champion; even Captain Cee Bee gave him a race. But I must say, if I continue studying all the form lines to this year's Champion Hurdle, I think my head will explode. Too many contradictory results, ifs and buts for me.
Defy Logic burst a blood vessel lads which is why he stopped so suddenly hence the jailcase sunk! Their not machines. Well apart from the Fly obviously What I would say about Fly is he's been much more workmanlike this season but sometimes showing you can win ugly isn't the worst asset in the world to have. Also considering how poorly he worked during the week 'the worst he ever had done' according to the maestro Mr Mullins, to still win today, especially having been headed after the last was probably a more credible performance than it may first appear. What a warrior he is, just look at the expression on him as Our Conor eyeballed him, he's a very mean beast
Our Conor stepped forward (beat Jezki) but he was held late on by Hurricane who has not been without problems himself this week, so no excuses. Hurricane proves he is still a top animal and that means he has to go to Cheltenham with as much hope as he has had the last 3 times he visited- you simply have to give him credit- he is a battler! The way Our Conor travelled makes it look like he might have a bit more to come in March but that is twice now where he doesn't quite seem to have that final finishing kick, and Fly did. So I might have my doubts on him this year. Any idea what the time or pace was like today? Just watching the replays it didn't strike me as fast, and Captain Cee Bee has actually beat Jezki home and is only a length and a quarter behind Our Conor, and less than 3L behind Hurricane Fly. That struck me as a little strange? At the moment, I think The New One, Hurricane Fly, and if she runs, Annie Power would be the 3 to concentrate on, with my preference without question for The New One, providing Sam Twister has the bravery to deliver his challenge fairly late.
Very hard to draw any firm conclusions from today's race SaveTheHumans. Probably was a bit of a sprint finish which would explain the bunched finish of the four. The last day the JP camp knew Captain Cee Bee set off too fast, so today they probably went off too slow?
