Heads up for jumps fans - Mr Henderson's Peace and Co makes his chase debut in the 2:20 at Hexham today. Currently 1/6 so not a betting perspective but could the Triumph Hurdle winner put down an early marker for the Arkle?

He should win today but I am hugely underwhelmed by this horse and don't believe he will make much of a chaser, at least not at the Grade 1 level.

If Peace and Co doesn't win today they may as well pack it in as he's racing against vastly inferior animals. Having said that he's never won on ground better than soft. In the opener at Hexham the master fiddler Brian Ellison seem to be at it again with Sun Spider. Opened at 33s and now into 6s. My Sunday investment goes on Nathan's Pride @ 16/1 ew. A fairly competitive Class 2 hurdle but I reckon this one is weighted to improve on recent performances. Good luck anyone.

I find myself thinking "Why start him at Hexham at the end of June?" but we'll see. Fences and a trip have been the making of Top Notch but apart from that the 2015 Triumph form is looking well dodgy.

De Sousa at Ponte, 7 runners hoping for at least a treble

I was on his only 2 at Lingers last night for a nice little double but today he could like you say have a treble but I think he could also hit a blank. Still trying to fathom out Johnstons horses as some shorties are getting turned over and those not expected to win, winning.

In the 3.20 Hexham I'm going to go with HEIST. In his last 11 races spanning the last 13 months, apart from an one UR he has either finished 1 or 3. A sequence is starting to build up here which would indicate that today will be a 1.

In the 3.50 DESERT ISLAND DUSK seems to like this track with figures of 1121.

4.10 Wor, TOO MANY DIAMONDS is on a right roll at the moment winning 4 on the bounce in the space of a week. Has had a nice little break and should complete the 5 timer.

Whilst going with horses in form I will leave SIGNE alone in the 3.30 PONTY but will go for FREDERIC in the 4.00 to complete the hat trick off top weight.

Going against De sousa in the 3 o clock
Lee looks to have a great chance on kingthistle and at 13/2 with 365 I will take a chance

Just watched a replay of the Peace and Co race up at Hexham. Did what was expected. He did treat a couple of his fences like hurdles but got away with it. Nicky H to get him well handicapped for Grand Annual I reckon rather than Arkle.
