Even though she cost me a few quid, you have to feel sorry for her a little. It must have been punishment enough for her to have to face connections of the horse and angry punters after the race. But to then find out she's missing Cheltenham, she must be in a bad place. I'm not saying the ban isn't fair, as it is, but you still have to feel sorry for her
Taking it well Shergs. Good that she had the minerals to fess up and not make some lame excuse. She is usually a pretty decent jockey to be fair to her. I bet she will get plenty of stick from the pro-boys in the coming days!
Yeah she would have made matters a lot worse had she come up with a story, I think she did the right thing
She cost me a £560 bet at 11/4 so to be perfectly honest I think the ban is right. I'm usually quick to praise jockeys and slow to criticise but given my Cheltenham fund is now £2,100 lighter I'm seething. Pocket talk but 100% justified.
As I haven't bet on horses for a while, I'm not having any serious bets. I only lost £50 on the horse, but if I had had £560 on it I'd be just as pissed off as you are Bob.
You did that much on a chass 4 handicap hurdle on HEAVY GROUND? Seriously? Irish Saint yesterday would've been alot less risky way of bolstering your Cheltenham pot...................
I am guessing Bob had it in a multiple.....serves him right for sticking a "bird" in there! By no means certain that she would have won either!
Another nice run from Modem to finish 2nd in the Grade 2 Novice Hurdle at Naas today - I would be hopeful that would be enough to get him into the County Hurdle, finished 2nd off 127 behind a horse rated 134 who is clearly progressive ........................
To my eye she looked like she had the race in the bag, Sirop De Menthe traded at 1.3 in the home straight, and the winner traded at 20s. So I think in all likely hood she would have won if she'd pressed the button
For those that haven't seen it These are the only irons she should be using for a while please log in to view this image
Everyone knows Sirop is likened to Harchibald...finds nothing off the bridle! Goosen done slipped up anyway Shergy even though you were wrong on the stats about his 54 hole leads as he has a huge win % from them you were right that today he would fail. Oiche Mhaith ma charas
I fancy Harchibald might have still won, even with a bird thinking there's a circuit to go on board Hard luck on Goosen STH, I wasn't giving my opinions from stats just what I've noticed in the past. The 2 these days that I notice throw away a lot of leads are Kuchar and Furyk. Furyk in particular is the ultimate bottler. The biggest surprise was a few weeks a go when the normally ice cool Kaymer threw away a 9 shot lead over the final 9 holes.
