Racing at Newton Abbot, Brighton and Curragh.

Double at newton for me; 2.50 Bold chief (evs) and 3.20 Rum and Butter (3/1)

Also backing beakon lady at 3.30 brighton. 10/3 about this horse who was won on monday (14l clear of 3rd) and has a 6lb rise offset by Murphy.

I think Kiyoshi will win the 4.15 group 1 but 7/4 is too short to get involved.

For an EW bet I'm having a go on Carla Bianca 14/1 in the 4:15 at Curragh

Carla Bianca (IRE)

Seemingly unfancied on debut at the Curragh but ran a cracker against the colts when beating all bar a highly regarded hot-pot with previous experience. Stretched clear of the remainder and looks an exciting prospect.

Mark Johnston and joe fanning go to Brighton with one horse--Mu'ajiza in the 3 30 ---i will imagine it is not going for the sea air.In the bumper at N A -Greatrex and Fehily team up with Sebastions Charm-- surely a winnable event 6/1 and 11/4 at the moment ! good luck all

I was to-ing and fro-ing whether to back this one or Lord Lescribaa Stick. It's mark has plummeted and on form from a couple of seasons ago it does look thrown in. It usually competes at a higher but even recently when it has raced at this level it has performed fairly poorly. I just felt I couldn't take the leap of faith but now the money has come for it I expect it to bolt up by a dozen lengths lol!!
 
The first day of September looks like a watching brief.

Over in Germany, Novellist faces what looks like a penalty kick; but he should not miss as he is German. The second-best horse in the race is theoretically Meandre but he has been a big disappointment this term and will have a remote rear view of the King George winner.

At Brighton, course specialist Beacon Lady has to give weight away all round in the 3:30 but races off a 1lb lower mark than when winning at Epsom (another downhill track) thanks to her 7lb claimer; however, over the shorter trip, she is opposable and Qawaafy may be the one.

Over in Ireland, the Moyglare Stakes features some fantastically bred fillies as visitor Kiyoshi, an impressive winner over six furlongs last time, steps up in trip against the home team. Wonderfully looks like a middle distance filly and she is very much second string to course and distance winner Tapestry who could keep this at home for the O’Brien team. Whatever happens, I would not write off any of these fillies on the strength of just today’s showing.
 
I came to the same conclusion on the Beacon Lady race Quartermoon, Qawaafy and the Cumani horse look the less exposed and possibly a class above what Beacon lady usually races against. This said Beacon Lady has become a different horse lately, it's hard to understand as she was beaten in races which she would win in a canter now. I am sure the trainer could shed some lifght on it however. Anyway I have gone for Qawaafy and am just hoping Hannagan will bring enough strength to the ride as she looked a little reluctant to battle it out in her last race, it was fair to say the winner beat her last time because he wanted it more.

Good luck with yours mate. I just think off this mark BALLYVESEY really should be doing the business!
 
Kylenoe Fairy ew for me in the 3.20 at Newton Abbot. Has slipped down the weights to a mark where she's proved capable before, 4 course wins from 8 visits and good ground point to a bit of value at 25/1. Good luck all.
 
4.15 Curragh Kiyoshi

Form of the Albany has been rock solid and she was a clear cut winner that day. Good race but i think Kiyoshi will be extremely hard to beat
 
The Moyglare Stakes did not end up as most of us had expected, but it would be unfair to crab Rizeena on her victory. Well done to Clive Brittain, that newcomer to the training ranks. I am still not writing off Tapestry or Kiyoshi or Wonderfully as these are all top-class fillies.

No surprise that Novellist collected in Germany, although it was not exactly the bloodless victory that was expected in a race that was not really run how the long odds on favourite might have expected. No real pointers to the Arc gleaned here.

Spot on.

I thought Tapestry looked the least developed of the three..Kiyoshi and Rizeena looked like barrels beside her.

Very taken with the winner of the first..really smart performance from one that was "barely ready to go".

That is always a decent race and she could be special.

AO'B had a really moderate bunch of fillies last year,this year he is spoiled for choice.
