Chapter Two (Cork 3:40) 18/1 and Chesterfield (Cheltenham) 25/1 both look too big for me.

11/4 for the Champion Hurdle .......................... get on now. After he trots up at Leopardstown (or Kempton?) over Christmas he'll be odds on <ok>

Its dropped from around 105 to 75 in less than a year. A masterly plot if they pull it off.

Yes, I too was really impressed by Lisp on debut. Despite pulling far too hard and making a bit of a hash of the last 2 hurdles (both traits that can be ‘ironed out’ by his handler given time) he, at the line, was just 3.5 lengths off a horse rated in the 90’s on the level and 14 lengths clear of the 3rd home. As this was only his 4th visit to a racecourse you would imagine that Lisp can only, and I do mean only, improve.

It may be massively premature to mention him in the same breath as the ‘Fred Winter’ but that ultimately, this term, is the sort of animal that he could be. Will obviously though need at least 2 more runs over hurdles to be eligible. They will tell us far more.
