So I missed the boat on de Sousa, Moore and Buick so Im on Hanagan ALL rides!
And on Chukka manana coming out despite the very public walking infront of his "G/F"
prior to pulling out, no pun, of the labour shamblesship election!!!

€535,500 on offer to the winner of the Grade 1 Grand Steeplechase de Paris today at Auteuil (3.05pm) and 2 familiar faces line up - Paul Nicholls' Sire Collonges and Mr Mullins' On His Own, who Paddy Power have installed as their 3/1 favourite for the race. The best part of 3m6f on going described as very soft. Should be ideal.

If you want to back On His Own i'd back it on the PMU. Should be a significantly larger price come the off. Not sure he's going to win it mind.

Ballynagour won at 7/1 yesterday but returned more than twice that price on the PMU. Bonkers. The thing ran Silviniano Conti to a head lto for Christ sake.

The French don't have a clue about the English form just like most on this side of the Channel don't know anything about the French horses on Arc weekend.

Makes you ask the question why don't more of the top tier or below target this weekend of racing in France? The money on offer is mind blowing compared to UK and Ireland's standards and pay all the way down to 6th I think. On His Own's a bloody good horse but there's no reason why the very best handicappers over here or the second level of Gold Cup/champion Hurdle runners couldn't go over there and be competitive. You don't need to win the race to collect the largest pay day of their careers.

Agreed Bob - lacks imagination IMHO. I guess the timing of today's race (i.e. when most high class British and Irish NH horses are enjoying their summer break) means that connections would have to plan this well in advance and train the horse specifically for the race. Didn't stop Mandarin though ....................

Or Thousand Stars...

With the Champion Hurdle over here wrapped up for the next 2 years at least i'd be seriously considering focussing horses on the French Champion Hurdle.

most trainers are creatures of habit , and wouldnt even consider going to france to pick up significant prize money, just for competing, reg hollinshead did it years ago, dont remember him ever having a winner but plenty were placed in the money slots and for coming third in a low grade french a/w race he could pick up many thousands of pounds ........bizare--

Just one that looked interesting today was My Twinkle 4.25 Navan at around the 13/2 mark. Looks like she will enjoy this trip and her first two career starts saw her make late headway in solid enough performances. Could potentially win today before competing in some of the better handicaps.

Good morning all, I trust we are all well... Done a couple of win patents to help pass the day. And why not...

M Rasen...
2.35 - A Little Bit Dusty, 5/1
3.40 - Get Home Now, 5/1
4.10 - Sew On Target, 9/2

Stratford...
3.25 - Baby Mix, 6/4
4.00 - Bold Conquest, 11/4
4.30 - Seymour Legend, 9/2

All the best, and good luck if your having a play today...:emoticon-0148-yes:

Does anyone else have an empty, hollow feeling when looking at these summer jumpas cards and looking for which horses McCoy is riding? Used to be the first thing I'd look for when perusing Market Rasen or Stratford cards, or those Worcester evening meetings. Sadly missed the Champ.

Just the one for me today, Star System 4:20 Ripon. Looked an impressive winner on debut at Southwell, it was only a 4 runner race and on paper will look like he didn't beat much but still done it well. Wouldn't think the switch to turf would be much of a problem, the step up in trip should suit though. Got it at 9/4 first thing this morning but seems to have come in now, 7/4 with most but can still get 15/8 in some places. Landwade Lad looks to have decent form last season and could be the danger, just not sure if this longer trip suits that one though.

I do think that some of the JP runners now wont be as short in the market now-a-days, as AP being on his or any other horse come to think about it were nearly all a little shorter in the market than his rivals... Missed yes, but it will provide us with some interesting jockey bookings in future months if we have three or four jockeys all fighting for the top jock award... AP would ride for anyone, anywhere, that's because he wanted to more than anything else, but will we see the Maguires, Johnsons etc going out of their way to secure a few more winners in their hunt for the leading jockey and title of Champion Jockey...???

I think Dickie always put the miles in,just never got the winners to rides ratio that AP maintained. Should be a penalty kick for him this season. As for Maguire, I think his future in the sport is far from certain .....................

Market raison
235 shalambar
305 vesuvhil
340 man of leisure
410 its up to you
440 book em danno

Navan 2.50-Promised Money. Was told to back this ew yday and took 10s, not much ew value left in 5s but thought I would mention it anyway.
Navan 4.25-Ivanovich Gorbatov 5s win-Think he is the value pick in the race over Weld hotpot.
Navan 4.55-Curvy 3/1 win.Been told connections expect another decent run after winning here last month.Only concern is the horse is up 12lbs so small stakes only.
Limerick 3.00-One cool Princess.Yard in decent form.
Limerick 3.30-Sizing Solution is running off a nice weight and can take this at 5/2 at the expense of Bog War.
My beloved Arsenal have a wretched record again Man Utd but I reckon we will put in a decent shift today and will beat them.Im taking Olivier Giroud as first goal scorer.
