Djebel (1940) ? Not checked this out, but I seem to remember that the French result isn't generally recognised - from unreliable memory, and something my dad told me years ago, the Poulains and Pouliches weren't run in the spring of that year, due to the German invasion and the general state of France at the time. I've a feeling a single combined colts' and fillies' 'substitution' race was run that autumn at somewhere like St. Cloud or Auteuil, which Djebel duly won, but I think the result comes with an implied asterisk, like Barry Bonds' home-runs record.
On a line through Policy of Truth and Normandy Bridge, Van Gogh would take a bit of beating if he runs in the French Derby instead of Epsom, which looks likely from betfair prices.
