Typical. Think Mullins one would have definitely won today but for running out. God damn you Billy's Hope!

Two lovely JLT performances today from Sizing John and Garde la Victoire. Both stayed on so strongly at the end of their races, I'd be forgettting the Arkle and heading up in trip with both.

Jewson and Arkle he will be entered up for Beefy. Bromhead said he wouldn't be in a rush to step him up on that ground. He's never done it, but he looks like he will get further.

I'm seeing Sizing John completely differently. I thought his weakness today was the final two furlongs. He still won really well but we're talking about potential Cheltenham winners here and I thought he was a little short.

Really like him for the longer race STH, his jumpings been beautiful on his two starts so far. Typical de Bromhead horse. The fact he's been placed in a Supreme behind a, potentially, top prospect is a further plus. Some very good novice chase prospects about. Shaneshill going novice chasing too I believe, not sure if he's that built for it. Ive a notion he's not the biggest...

Geez, I don't know why you think that, he jumped the last like it was the first to my eye. He was entitled to stick him in neutral up the run in with the race won.

I thought Garde was a little fortunate today. FOX NORTON fluffed his chance away at the last and I will be gobsmacked if that is Festival winning form!

I backed FN and considering he give weight it was a very good run. GLV loves Cheltenham though, he isnt quick enough for an Arkle I'd guess but a step up a few furlongs would play to his strengths. Mind you I felt that about Captain Chris.. <doh>

Hobbs tends to run his decent ones in the Arkle so ill be surprised if Garde La Victoire doesnt turn up there.

Sizing John never been further than 2 miles, seems to better over fences so I dont see why they shouldnt be thinking about the Arkle unless Douvan looks unbeatable.

When was the last time a Supreme winner won the Arkle?

Captain Chris won an Arkle and he was always better over further. A few Arkle novices end up staying further and Sizing John and GLV should go. Nothing to be scared of until we see Douvan ping a fence!

Garde is still learning and a better run race will suit him more. That said, I agree with you. More Of That was only novice chaser that impressed me for the festival.

    Muddling weekend tbh

I've not the stats to back it up but from memory this meeting at HQ isn't usually a great guide to winners for March I don't think.

Fully agree with you on More Of That Nass. Ya have to imagine that he will improve a heap for the run there too and hopefully he stays sound.
