I thought the ground at Exeter looked unraceable. The sight of MIDNIGHT PRAYER having to be vigorously ridden out to get him to the winning line when he was the only horse still going was saddening and really quite sickening. I don't often think that the sport is cruel but racing in those conditions yesterday I really think was.
I have never seen finishing like it. Given the ground, the Hobbs bumper winner impressed me an awful lot with how he won.
