Not the same without the Rory fella Beefy but great play today from RF..almost like Sawgrass.

Not too bad for an under achiever!

Not really Dex, I just like Murray and feel proud that we have such a good British player, even if he is a jock. Nobody would have beaten Federer on Friday, he creamed everything. I certainly do not believe he was quite in that same form today and at this level a couple of per cent is crucial...!

I get comparing stats to some extent Stick but they were against different opponents. Djokovic is better than Murray so even if Federer had played to the exact same level it probably wouldn't have mattered against a better opponent

That's tosh badger with all due respect, when comparing first serve percentage how does the different opponent make any difference. Without that service percentage on Friday Murray would have had half a chance!

I'm a huge Murray fan Stick..love the guys passion and ffs a Scottish tennis champ..in that climate?

Unreal...I love the way he lets you know exactly how he's feeling...top class and I know some don't like him for his Scots Indy comments but he gives his all for the Davis Cup.

And he has 2 Border Terriers...brave man..I have one and he drives me crazy..google those little buggers before buying one.

    They are great though!

Because it's just first serve and one stat what about the rest of the game? How about the balls returned, second serve etc... And how the rest of the game is played? I get that first serve is important but to say that's the reason why he won Friday but lost Sunday is a bit of a stretch

Seriously I really do like him I'm a big fan. He's just unfortunate to be around in this era with so much other talent

To imply Murrays not 'worldclass' nowadays is farcical tbh. He's consistently been ranked in the top 4 for years, he's won slams whilst playing in an era with 3 of the games greatest evers. Christ his head to head with Roger is nearly even stevens and he's unquestionably one of the top 3 to have ever have picked up a racquet. Most would say the greatest. 3 years ago I'd have agreed with you, but he's improved since 2012 a lot, and to just compete with these lads like he does, albeit not win as many slams, if that's not world class I don't know what is?

It is so good re talent.

Shows how good Stan Wawrinka is to snatch two slams off them.

The guy who really would be right up there but has been killed by injury since his US Open win..Del Potro..total class...broke through when the big guys were really in their prime.

What are his head to head stats like against Djokovic, Federer and Nadal in grand slams? I genuinely don't know but they're the ones that count not all the ****ty little tournaments in between. I'd say Murray was a much better play than Warwinka but they have the same number of Grand Slam wins so am I wrong or is it just matter of opinion?

No idea on his head to heads with them tbh but you've kind of backed me up by admitting number of Slams isn't the only measure of being a world class player!

Fwiw I'd call Stan world class along with a few others, Nishikori (sp) being another one. Maybe I just have lower standards than you badger lol <ok>
