At Longchamp the G1 3yo+ fillies & mares 12f race was 2.69 secs slower than the G2 3yo race. The 4yo winner of the former was carrying 2lb more than the 3yo Colt. At this point, my brain hurts

Unplaced, looking awkward when making his move a couple of furlongs out

The way she travelled and then quickened past a good juvenile!
I can’t think many two year old fillies matched that performance in recent memory.

That was the most astonishing performance by the Aga Khan’s filly. She travelled comfortably throughout the race and then dispatched the Ballydoyle filly like she was standing still. She earned a rating of 116P from Timeform.

She is a Siyouni half sister to Dermot Weld’s Arc runner-up Tarnawa (by Shamardal). Both her races to date have been on easy ground, so if we presume that she would not be inconvenienced by a quicker surface she will surely be the favourite at HQ next May as her style of running and pedigree indicate that the extra furlong will be no problem.

Clearly Weld thought that she was a little bit useful as he ran her in one of the top juvenile fillies’ races on only her second start. I wonder if he honestly thought she was that good as the runner up went into the race rated a solid 109 after wins in the Albany and the Debutante. I read that he commented after the race that he will be putting her away until the spring, despite victory automatically qualifying her for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.
