Small stakes e/w Lucky 15 at Chepstow:

2.45 Wizard's Bridge
3.20 Ballyglasheen
3.55 Astracad
6.00 Master Ally
 
Toscanini 2.25 Curragh - backed him a few times this season. He's been running well but has found a few too good. This should be easier today and Buick goes over.
 
Present View for me today too, think he will be tuned up for today and most won't be. Will write up yesterday later, but a quick nod to Stick for his views yesterday on text.

Some interesting horses out today- the Jump season has really started! Opening Batsman over in Ireland (personal favourite of mine- As I do open the batting for my club- not very well but still do it <laugh>) Dynaste over in france in a grade 3 hurdle- surely he should have too much for these- Then a few as some of you have mentioned over at Chepstow

Is it too early yet to ask what days people are going to the festival next year <laugh>

Nice juvenile contest to kick off the season at Chepstow. Would like to see Alan King get some nice ammunition to have a go with.
 
Well the King and Nicholls horses looked above average- how far above average who knows but two nice ones. King horse hurdled brilliantly and quickly until the last.
 
Emotionless injured after Dewhurst flop.

AN EXPLANATION for Emotionless's Dubai Dewhurst Stakes flop emerged on Sunday when the Godolphin colt was found to have a knee injury.
The colt who finished last in the Group 1 behind the impressive Air Force Blue was lame and will have to undergo surgery.

However the procedure is not expected to prevent Emotionlesshaving a full preparation for next year's Qipco 2,000 Guneas.

Trainer Charlie Appleby said: "We carried out routine checks this morning and he was found to be lame to his left fore knee. X-rays have revealed a chip there that will require surgery. It is a straightforward surgery.

"It is pleasing we found something there after that very disappointing run yesterday and we can still look forward to spring and getting him back on track towards a possible tilt at the 2,000 Guineas."

Emotionless is best-priced 25-1 with Paddy Power for the Qipco-sponsored Classic, but is as short as 14-1.

Anybody remember wonder horse Arazi having surgery for a knee chip injury over the winter before his three year old career? Emotionless 25/1 is way too short...

How many will Lewandowski put past the Paddys today with Shay Given out? Just 7/2 for the first goal.

Credit to Wales and Northern Ireland where it is due but the only reason that either of them are in the European Championship next year is because it has been expanded to 24 teams. Just like the Rugby World Cup padded out with no chance minnows to make it go further.

What difference did the expansion make to them??? They are both going to finish in the top 2 of their group and qualify on merit. Northern Ireland topping their group! Both have played terrific and will be a breath of fresh air to the event.

Your jealousy and bitterness knows no bounds.
