Un de Sceaux is a frustrating one. I just don't understand what the point of today is. The owner must have plenty of disposable income otherwise he wouldn't be owning a horse (although admittedly it does look like he only has 2 or 3) so he presumably doesn't need to be winning this kind of pot. If WPM was serious about this horse as a possible Champion Hurdler then surely he'd have put him into one of the English races? Annie Power has scooped a couple of decent prizes here whilst HF takes all in Ireland - why not put Un De Sceaux into some vaguely competitive 2m here? Surely if he's a genuine CH contender theres a big handicap begging for the taking? Or at least something more interesting than this?! If PFN or NJH were training him he'd have been in the Ladbrooke or something graded by now. It's just a bit disappointing, ynno? (I say all this on the premise that the Irish Champion Hurdle has exactly the same set of runners as the Ryanair did at xmas - if WPM puts either UDS or AP up against HF in the Irish Champion hurdle I will (1) catch a ride on a flying pig there to watch it and (2) completely take it all back)
Haha loving Ruby's comment there now after the race..."If Un de Scueax does turn up in the champion hurdle the I don't think THE NEW ONE will need a pacemaker". He had to be reminded of annie power and the fly. Nice touch Ruby !
Good info poor student, beaten a head by the jolly with jockey putting up a 1lb overweight. I bet some of your big punters have just crossed Mr Hassett of their Xmas card list! Welcome to the forum
You'll still get a price next time Boris. Leaverhelighton isn't anything worth writing home about IMHO and it 'a very difficult to find maidens without a Mullins or Gigg runner in Ireland as you well know. Sorry to see you lost a chunk yesterday. No one likes to see that happen when you've put your neck on the line. Do you mind me asking what your theory was behind the confidence? I didn't fancy the selection at all but mine was based mainly on a lack of respect for David Pipe's yard more than anything else so I'm interested to find out what people with a less skewed opinion of the trainer thought.
Well done Bob little bit gutted myself as Mad Brian was my 5th horse in a 7 horse accumulator previous 4 won with just the two Mullins horses to go in Ireland. I hope now that one or both of them lose
Unlucky badger. Brian should have won but came a cropper. You'd have a lovely chance there of landing it although I've never warmed to Popcorn and with a massive break to overcome I'd be surprised if he's capable of winning first time out. The bumper horse could be a hell of an animal though. Or I could have come at the race from the wrong angle. I fancy that to hose up.
Great shout poor student, done on the line but nice ew.any big chelts ante post placed around your way you can tell us on the sly
No hes nothing special, hes just one of those horses for me that you take a liking to even though they arent great horses, I thought I seen something in him to think he has a race or two in him and he has backed me up last twice with two good runs, maybe last time was the real chance to win at a price but he missed the second last and the winner was game. I dont know why I fell for The Liquidator, it was more the weakness of the opposition that made me think he was a cracking bet at 5/2, knew Upazo was a mullins 5th string, Hendersons newbury maiden looked average and Royal Boy was coming back from 2m6 at ascot to 2m at kempton, obviously got that wrong but I cant have been the only one, he got absolutely smashed up in the betting. I cant seem to catch Pipe either, Dynaste was another big let down in the king george, although there was obviously something physically wrong with him that day. The Liquidator looked too bad to be true yesterday aswell, surely hes better than he showed. I got my money back on Captain Chris tho, they were my two bets, and I backed Deputy Dan for a cpl of quid aswell so ended up a good day. please log in to view this image
bob are you sure he is Neptune bound, always risky going ante post with any Mullins runner, could go the Albert bartlet route.currently 6/1 but 9/2 to win any race seems better value at this stage.why the confidence bob if you don't mind me asking, banker material?
Glad you backed Captain Chris. He was a ridiculous price based on all form. The thing is miles ahead of that field over the trip and he won like he was entitled to. Deputy Dan had an easy time of it once the Mullins Rathvinden fell but you can only beat what manages to get round and he was defo much better than the remainder of the field even if his stamina let out a little at the end. It's funny how punting can kick you in the teeth one minute but pay for the dentures the next!
just a warning for all who are thinking about backing wilie mullins hotpot in the last...I need it for an accumulator and seeing as my treble/accum jinx has returned the last 2 days then I would advise everyone to back against it. Just this minute shes got grit won there at naas and my treble placed last nite was for gallant oscar 5/2, mad brian 5/6 and shes got grit 4/1 to return just over 320. also had a treble at wolves were caspian prince 5/1, thataboy 9/4 and yep parisian pyramid 3/1 to return 700 odd for €10 beat again by 1 coming second. not to even start into yesterdays with 2 stewards enquiries denying me and numerous other seconds. anyway that's the chance we take. got a football bet up yesterday for 8 teams for €500 for €5 stake so that eased my pain ! seen another guy last week on facebook who had a 10 team accum running so thought i'd give it a go myself and did 13 teams and i'm now left waiting on arsenal tomorrow night and next saturday vs Fulham, liverpool vs A villa and Man city vs Cardiff....anyone think I should cash out €360.72 for or let it roll for €1587.62?? I'm thinking i should let it roll but the bloody scousers will probably do me
Faugheen my banker? Quevega is my banker just like she has been for 5 years including when a few on here really like United against the great mare. I'm well stocked up about 5/4 for her. However, I've been building up my Faugheen position for a couple of months. I think I mentioned him very early this season as my one to punt and he's only impressed and improved since. The Neptune is the right trip. There's no strength in the field as far as I can see and even if it was a strong year I would still be very strong on him. I honestly think I'm just waiting for the payout on the Wednesday afternoon. His cruising speed is phenomenal. He jumps. He's got the best jockey on his back. Versatile in regards to tactics. Special horse.
Don't cash out Dave you should be safe with them fixtures. Villa are ****e so can't see them upsetting Liverpool
wow i'm genuinely shocked ! paddy mullins does it for me! normally me and him aren't friend! had the forecast as well accum was frost fire 7/4, milsean 1/1, kettlebell 7/4 and Aklan 9/10. Quite a profitable few days!!
