There is a huge amount of booths for something called ChesterBet which is run by the racecourse itself. You find it impossible to get a signal to bet on your phone so I would say they are rigging it to make you bet on course and with them. I am surprised the bookies are not up in arms about it.
The dress code is very strict, suit and tie. Not that that stops the yobs from getting pissed and rowdy. Never seen so many blue flashing lights in a town centre after racing.
The course really is too small to cope with the big crowds that they attract in my opinion. Getting a decent was nigh on impossible from the centre of the course.
As an owner it was pretty poor with a lot of travelling to do from the owners bar to the paddock and then on to the viewing platform.
Everyone in my group was allowed to take their drinks outside albeit in plastic glasses but not me with my pint of Guinness as they didn't allow that in the champagne area. All in all it was a complete ballache especially as I even had to buy a tie to get in! Yes maybe I should read the dress code but ffs I wear a tie for work not for fun.
They pulled my lunch vouchers as my horse didn't run but he still travelled the 230 miles to get there as did I. Hardly our fault that the ****ing North doesn't get a summer. I didn't kick off particularly at any of this treatment but I shall be sending a long letter of complaint and neither me or my horse will be going back.
On the plus side we stayed in the most fantastic b&b 200 yards from the course and they treated us like royalty. Proper Northern hospitality.

That was so much better than what we have seen all season. Looked like the gutsy fella we knew before. So chuffed that he is back in the winners enclosure, first of three winners this week ;-)
Now for a Charlie STD double!

Massive congratulations to Don. I'm well chuffed for you. You're always very forthcoming and honest with this forum with regards to the horses you own and it's quite clear how much Harristown means to you. I'm really please you got into the winners enclosure and what a great price too. I can only imagine what a great feeling it is owning a horse and when that horse wins for you it must feel pretty special so enjoy and again well done

I must also say Stratford was very impressive today a good card for a Sunday and plenty to do for all the family.
