Ah where would we be without the now traditional 1st day collapse of England?

Still Bairstow and Hales have steadied things and gone from 83-5 to 171-5 at tea. Game quite nicely balanced........

Yes good recovery & reckon anything around 300 would be competitive in these conditions & with weather as it is our attack should be relishing bowling in this.

Excellent knocks from Bairstow and Hales, especially in these conditions. It doesn't look easy to bat out there, and Broad and Anderson are showing just what a proper seam attack is capable of...

First innings, the difference was a pair of batsmen who dug in, and a pair of bowlers who used the conditions brilliantly. It's looking good at the moment, but these things can so easily swing round...

When I left work SL were 77-5 so didn't know that they had been rolled over......impressive from Anderson and Broad and backs up the work done by Hales and Bairstow earlier in the day. Not sure the forecast is that good for tomorrow but should still be ample time to bowl them out a 2nd time......

It's nice to win but there are far too many of these one sided tests nowadays. I'd love to see a very close 4/5 day test at some time this summer.

I know what you mean, but the last time SL were here they won the series with Jimmy Anderson getting out to the penultimate ball. Wouldn't want that again.

An England win by an innings and 88 runs. Well done England, let's hope the challenge is a bit tougher next time.
