    Ok, probably a little too early for this, but have come across the list of Premiership players who are out of contract in the summer;

    http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/tran...an-list-all-the-players-available-for-free-in

So are there any realistic targets in that list? Can we get another Tiny?

Luke Young is there, who Malky was very close to signing on loan in January... as is Shaleum Logan who I think we had on trial. Anyone spot a realistic replacement for Danny IF he goes? Will any of these fit into the £5k wage limit, and be willing to come?

(This list is from the end of January, so some may have signed new contracts)

    http://www.givemefootball.com/pfa-transfer-list

A more definitive list, but is a list of everybody, and not just players at Premiership clubs at the moment

There are plenty of goalies on there who I think may fit the bill. Especially if we can get a decent price for Loach.

And of course Jordan Mutch is on there.

Personally, I know Super Kev is getting on a bit, but I still think he would do a job for us in the Championship. Imagine him helping out Sordell, Deeney & Massey on the training ground.

What fun this task is - Mitch used to love to INSIST Hoskins was brilliant and should start every week even though he was divisive in the dressing room and only average!

Unfortunately with our finances we will always suffer from the "Jason Beckford" factor - a bigger fish noting our interest and trumping our offer. I wonder if he has been anywhere near Wealdstone since he left.

Another factor is the loss of John Stephenson to Brighton - good men don't come easily!

Anyway please keep the transfer rumours coming - I don't have time to trawl through all the different sites.

My plumber's son has been snapped up to play in the Aussie league - apparently he is very good and playing in front of crowds of over 20,000 - should I have a word? :)

Hmm this wasn't really a 'transfer rumours' thread... more a look at who is out of contract at the end of the season, so who could we realistically pick up on a free - like we did with Taylor! Seeming Malky was already close to signing Luke Young on loan, maybe he will try and sign him in the summer, if he fits into the wage structure!

OK, from the list, here are who I think would be good targets...

Luke Young, 2 year contract (would prefer Andrew Taylor though).
    Kevin Phillips, 1 year contract
    Jordan Mutch, 3 year contract

plus one of the many GK on the list.

This is based on Danny Graham and Scott Loach leaving in the summer.

Mackail Smith is out of contract in the Summer.

Do we realistically have any chance of luring him back to his home town?

The main problem would be that there's been interested from several other Championship sides who have the money to pay him higher wages than us....

I can't imagine Mackail Smith being taken on by a promoted club.

He's not even a proven Championship striker.....and I don't think he has the same ability to step up as Beckford did.

I'd say we could rule out at least 15 teams next season who he wouldn't go to over us. Out of the other 8 teams (not including us)....it's only likely that 3 or 4 would try to get him...but they'd all probably be able to offer him more wages wise.

Wages are going to be a sticking point with us - having been bitten by the Premiership wage structure and only just now being free of over paid players we will be very careful what wages we now offer I would think
