BTW, your statement in your sig about Moyes winning as many European Trophies in 3 years as Arsenal have in their existence is incorrect. Unless Moyes won a second European trophy with West Ham that I am unaware of. Arsenal have 2 European Trophies. Europa League in 1970 (or whatever it was called at that time) and Cup Winners Cup in 1994. Just FYI
He probably has only just looked to see where Spurs finished in the table, he probably thought playing alongside the world classy Harry Le Pen he would at least get Champions League footie. His second thought was oh well, I'll be guranteed a trophy, until he ploughed through 15 years of silverware and found nothing. Life can be so cruel sometimes, poor sod.
wrong, the fairs cup was little more than a friendly in which the criteria for entry was having a trade fair in your city. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UEFA_club_competition_winners
Right: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1970_Inter-Cities_Fairs_Cup_final It was the pre cursor to the UEFA cup and Europa league and is still a European trophy
FIFA also considered Qatar an acceptable place to host a world cup so you will excuse me if I dont give a **** what FIFA think..... It was a European competition, set up by FIFA, which Arsenal qualified for by finishing runners up in the English league where they had to play and beat other teams in Europe to win a trophy..... In my eyes, if its an official tournament that you qualify for by achieving a league position or winning a trophy, then its a legit european trophy.
Newcastle won it but I don't really count it even though it was the last bit of silverware we won, might start a campaign to have recognised in it's own right and if the European cup counts why not the Fairs Cup?
list of winners suggests only one decent team out of 4 and they always won it harder to win the Papa John’s
