It's weird because I used to love games, but now I can't be arsed with them at all and that's been the case for many years.

If I remember correctly it was a bit of fanny that ended my gaming days and then I moved on to class A drugs.

It's different if it's a young prospect who the club see an opportunity with. We've seen already that our owners make their minds up on a player and like to pursue it so can see Guehi and Ekitike being chased again. They're both good options but that's £100m+ I suspect and that'll be most of our budget.

I'm hoping we're a touch more canny than that.

FA Cup > League cup

Don’t think Guehi will take a step down in his career tbh. His decision to stay at Palace and turn you down has been justified.

League Cup > Nothing

I'm guessing Isak wouldn't want to take a step down to move to Arsenal too. I'll accept this situation.


I'd also add that I'd make Palace more likely than most teams to win another cup next year. I wasn't joking the other day when I was saying finishing lower in the league might have been better, those lesser European trophies look very winnable now other clubs don't drop down into them. Suspect I'm going to be jealous of Palace when we go out in the league stage and they're making the QF/ SF of European competition.

Players want CL and trophies not one of the two. I'm not ready to worry about the size of major competitions, that's for sure.
