There was 100% ****housery involved that the Premier League was desperate to keep behind closed doors.

I watched the CAT case hearing and the Premier leagues lawyers entire attempt was to ensure it was not made public should the court case go-ahead. At the end they were told it would be made public.

One week later the takeover went through !

It was blatantly open to pretty much everyone who followed the case that the entire issue was purely financial. They didn't like that piracy company operating in Saudi Arabia and it was specifically Qatari companies who suffered for this.

Once this was cracked down on and stopped, the Qatari's gave the green light and wasn't it approved the very next day?

I remember mate ... coz I was at Villa Park when they beat us in the semi!!!!

I think anyone that remembers has got to be knocking on 50. We are pass our sell by date, so we obviously remember. They were an entertaining duo, I was thinking it was the Falklands war then, but on checking that wasn't until 1982.Don't dry for me Argentina :emoticon-0159-music:emoticon-0159-music

So does that mean the next club to be taken over by the middle east won't have anywhere near the same delay <whistle>

But, the people in the club shop appear to be doing just a **** a job as they usually do, so they apparently all kept their jobs.

How do you stack like 200 new shirts with a ****ed badge? Not one noticed and informed the people upstairs and said "this will be a ****in' PR disaster."

They apparently improved the rules to make new ownership more difficult now.

Load of bollocks, everything the PL says is nonsense. They are a meaningless vapid mess and if you give them a bit of cash they slink off back into their caves and shut the **** up.

We’ve agreed personal terms with Maddison and are trying to get a deal done this week. If he can avoid those niggling injuries that’s a top signing for us if it goes through. Been crying out for creativity for years since Eriksen left.

We’re trying to chuck Winks in Leicester’s direction as well, would be a separate deal and not to do with our pursuit of Maddison but Jesus that might be our best news of the summer if we pull that off.
Congratulations on signing Newcastle's top target <applause>

Very good signing. A few on our board will be pleased as they were never convinced by him.

Personally think we missed a trick and again, have decided to go foreign and purchase abroad.

He's a special talent ... no denying... sad to see him go but that's life ... he'd get kicked all over the park in the Championship...

Can’t argue with his stats, but I was never convinced on him for us. Hopefully means Szob on the Tyne.

You lot have been done up like kippers.

40m?

That's like 20m less than you were offered 6 months ago.

6 months ago we were in the Premier League ... still £15m more than we paid for him and he leaves as a FA Cup winner with us ... perspective... place in history <cheers>

Personally I have seen Maddison play with my own eyes and he's clearly a very, very good player. But this Szob fella, will I **** watch the German league mate, so I have no idea if he's good, bad, whatever.

Leipzig are a good side and he's a regular starter, so I can only presume he's good.

But, then again, he appears to be even more expensive than Maddison, so apparently these financial constraints thing is complete bollocks.

Much like 6 months ago you were in the Premier League

when you signed Maddison for 15m less than you just sold him, you lot weren't skint.
