He's always been good against us. Our defence is pretty good, ergo, he shouldn't do badly as a stopgap.
Negredo cost less than half what we paid for Ozil, I think former would've won us more points. Ozil is the best passer of the ball in the world, esp long passes slicing defences apart. His arrival helped the confidence of other players, eg Ramsey but that honeymoon period impact is over. Unforteunately he can't beat players one on one and is not a goal scoring midfielder. Midfield was not the area we needed strengthening, as proven by our courting of Suarez....Ozil was purchased to redeem what was an utterly shambolic and frankly embarrassing transfer window.
Flamini and Ozil have both been great signings. Not sure how you can go so OTT and call it shambolic and embarrassing... Flamini has contributed to a far more solid defence with better communication and Ozil is top of the assists chart for the league, already has a handful of goals (and was shown on sky to perform better in big games than Hazard). They are doing exactly what they where both brought in to do. We obviously needed an additional striker as well as the above which is why we went in for Suarez/Higuain and then had a deal in place for Ba on loan which Mourinho pulled the plug on last minute. Hopefully we can sort something in January or Podolski manages to put in some good CF performances. But it's clear at the very least in Summer we will be in the market for a striker.
What? Flamini, Ozil, got rid of massive deadwood. Only thing missing was a CF which we tried to get. We're 2nd on GD and our signings have ahd a huge impact. Not sure how you can call it "utterly shambolic and embarrassing" window.
this , you either pay up or shut up . he is worth what the market says he is worth , not what you think he is . Look at the goals he has scored . makes Giroud look like an amateur .
i wouldnt call it a shambolic window either . Ozil was worth what we payed , no problem with that . But its just pennypinching with Suarez . i think we would have got him for 55.m What he would have added to the club would have easily been recouped. You have to speculate to accumulate.
The evidence is that we JUST WONT pay the money that these top players cost . Its short sighted and penny pinching.
