Omari Hutchinson season long loan, set to be announced later today, currently having medical. I know f all about him but seems decent and I have full faith in KM etc, if they want him....he must be good!!
Apparently, Morsy is interesting Saudi clubs. Hopefully, this is nothing more than speculation as I feel he is vital for our club both on and off the pitch. Best captain we’ve had in years but money talks and he is in his 30s
Hutchinson deal complete!! With regards to Morsy, I love him but.....he is 32 and if we get offered a decent amount for him, then I would honestly go for it, we know the money will be reinvested immediately and I have full faith in MA and KM to bring in the right player and improve on Morsy. We have Taylor who is quality that can also slot into that position alongside Luongo. Tbh I'm happy either way coz I know whatever is done, will be done for the best of the club!!
I think the Morsy deal would be a bit of a blow. He's arguably our key player and is an essential part in how we play. The reassuring aspect to this is we have sufficient cover in central midfield, so it won't leave us woefully short at the start of the season if the move was to happen. I'd also be surprised if we got a lot of money for him. He's 32, two years left on contract, and is playing for a newly promoted Championship club. The Saudis' sportswashing programme is bringing in a lot of established, high profile footballers - a sad sign of the times. I wouldn't blame Morsy if he was tempted for one last big payday, double his wages (maybe more), and potentially play alongside some legends of the game. If we could bring in £10 million for him, that would be great business, but I highly doubt the Saudis will throw that type of money for a player of Morsy's profile - especially considering how little they're paying in transfer fees for some Premier League players. I imagine the fee, if it happens, will be in the region of £3-4 million.
I don't think it would be disastrous if we lost Morsy as unlike previous seasons we have other players who can come in however if it isn't broke don't fix it and at the end of the day he is probably our best and most influential player. The partnership of Luongo and Morsy was in my mind the foundation in which our incredible form was built on at the end of last season and will be critical for us doing well next. The tenacity, experience and guile they show as a pairing gives the talent around them the opportunity to express themselves. I don't think I've seen the balance, consistency and togetherness of a midfield pairing like this since the days of Magilton and Holland.
Agree with a ove comments BUT is Morsy really the guy to take us forward, I honestly think we can do better and if he is sold ...will get in better, just my personal opinion guys. Happy to keep him but also wouldn't be fussed if he went and we brought in a quality replacement or Taylor took his place. I like what I have seen of Taylor and I also think he brings a bigger goal threat!!
I see your points, Spanish, but I would prefer to have Morsy in the team for the next couple of years as we adapt to life back in the Championship. He's definitely a good enough player for this level and as itfcptc says, his partnership with Luongo in central midfield was a key factor in our second-half of the season performance and promotion. As you say though, we can get better if we sell him for a good fee. I don't think any player is irreplaceable and that applies to Morsy. A Taylor-Luongo midfield combination could work and I'd trust in McKenna and the recruitment team to be able to identify and get in a capable midfielder. If selling Morsy also gives us extra money to bring in a better standard of central defender or centre-forward, then that will be to the benefit of the team too. If we are to sell Morsy, it needs to be for a fee that reflects his importance to the club. To me, anything lower than £5 million would feel like we've shortchanged.
I also know nothing about Hutchinson, other than the positive noises made by Chelsea fans online. Apparently he comes with a promising reputation and is highly-regarded in the academy levels. It's difficult to judge his effectiveness, as this is his first loan move and first time playing professional first team football (other than one or two fleeting appearances in the Premier League with Chelsea). Hopefully he provides a bit of competition and pace in the attacking positions.
Wow, Town TV international subscription is 20 quid a month. That's 240 quid a year. A pretty big hike from what I paid for a yearly subscription to iFollow!
My understanding is it costs £5.99 a month for in-house interviews, match day audio commentary, and any other extras they do. For a match day pass, it works like the iFollow set-up - £10 a match. You don’t need to be a member (i.e., pay £5.99 a month) to be able to purchase a match day pass.
Key issue is with the £10 matchday pass, how many home & away games do you get to watch, at week-ends and mid-week? And do we really want to pay a monthly £6 just to watch club interviews etc? I think Spanish's international ticket at £5 a game without all the crap sounds a bargain! Any spare rooms mate?
Yeah, I'll probably start my subscription in August. Last year's iFollow sub was $178. From what I saw briefly, there will be a pre-match show to watch and probably more content than what iFollow had. Reckon we've probably had to build a studio somewhere to make all this happen. I will definitely pay up, my biggest wish is that they get the production right on match days and that the overall quality of the broadcast is improved.
