Personally I’m keeping faith with the process. We work with what we’ve got until January, see where the weaknesses are and then deal with it,like last Season.
Now I come to think of it, the biggest surprise for me is keeping faith with Hladky. So many clubs would have lost their nerve after the mistake against Leeds. Not having a knee jerk reaction to that is indeed following the process.
As others have said, in KM and the club we trust, and keep with the process. The current squad aint doing badly in top 6 of the Championship! Another good performance today will settle things down. Up the Towan!
I think I was a little unfair about Freddie. He has been a real squad player and came on to score some great goals last season. Although 30yrs, he is popular and we do need backups up front. And this fella Tuanzabe is a good catch, to strengthen our defense, impressive Prem record, provided he can stay injury free.
I wouldn't be surprised if Slicker comes in for him soon, he looks alot less nervous than Hladky and like Walton takes more pressure off his defence with his general play and positioning
It's written in the stars! - one day Scarlett will be Captain (Members of a certain age will know what I mean!)
Who was the last player we bought from a club overseas, excluding Ireland? Do we actually have international scouts, it really frustrates me tbh, there's some great talent out there but we seem to only buy from the UK!!
I’ve been thinking for a few weeks now about a ‘rating’ of each of our transfers so I’ll give it a go, based almost purely without seeing them play Hirst - 7.5/10 Solid and common sense signing given his performances last season. Sensible fee as well but as we know not had much game time at this level before. Should continue to improve though Luongo - 7/10 Same as above, but question mark around robustness and longevity. But does have good Championship experience and leadership qualities Taylor - 7.5/10 Good physical attributes and a good age with lots of lower league football under his belt. He has earnt his shot at Championship football & McKenna clearly rates him & thinks he can get more out of him. Might not excel this year but will get better Slicker - 7/10 Clearly one for the future and almost impossible to give any sort of rating but appears decent enough for when he is needed Hutchinson - 6/10 Lots of potential but I’m not convinced he’ll be able to contribute regularly as he is probably another season on loan away from being a top player at this level. Reminds me of the loan signings of Chalobah, AMN of previous seasons.. clearly destined for great things but we’re the learning curve for others to benefit from as ultimately I don’t think there’s any chance of signing him permanently Williams - 6.5/10 Not set the pulse racing, but good age and has some experience at this level & above. I feel there were other positions and attributes we should have prioritised and ultimately I don’t think there’s any chance of signing him permanently but happy to trust McKenna Scarlett - 6.5/10 Similar to the Williams & Hutchison loans not sure I can get that excited yet. Lots of potential but probably too soon to have a real significant impact this season. I feel we could have done with a more versatile attacker who could play across a number of positions and ultimately I don’t think there’s any chance of signing him permanently
Scowie, Taylor has Championship experience with Peterborough for 1 season anyway. He reminds me of a slightly more athletic Tommy Miller from what I've seen of him so far
Really, frigging hell, that was years ago, what's going on, why do we only seem to sign players from the UK
Think that (tuanzabe) rounds off our summer fairly well. Added in each area with signings that have a good balance between known ability and potential - all of which I can see developing the squad well.
On the one hand he's exactly the calibre of player we want and we need to add more quality defensively. On the other hand, this is a great signing.
