I have a feeling ladapo may go and Humphreys on loan. I hope Harness gets sold but that's highly unlikely!!

The consistency and variation behind the main striker is an area which concerns me most now. With Edwards out of the picture we have no one really who can come into those positions who I'd say you can rely on currently if we have an injury or there is a loss of form or to change it up during a match. CB need strengthening as well but think we have enough players who can do a job there if needs be.

Let's face it though in comparison to seasons gone by there aren't any gaping holes although it doesn't feel like we've strengthened since the end of last season

I think Williams will come good, just needs a few games, I can see him making RB his own!! I also think Scarlett will improve us, would rather him than ladapo all day long!!
Still think Ashton has an ace up his sleeve, a big signing to come, just you see!!
Perhaps we are holding fire atm, see where we are in January and make signings then according to what we need

I rate Ladapo - just the same as Edwards - there’s no point him being around if McKenna is not going to use him. He is not going to be content to warm the bench.

For me, Ladapo is a decent league 1 striker but no more than that. At the beginning of the window, Hirst and Luango were both definites as they both knew the way we play and had both slotted in. Other than that, I was thinking cover in the wide right area and central defence were the biggest issues. I like Williams as a signing. Not sure about Hutchinson as he seems a bit lightweight for me. Maybe it’s just see how we go and strengthen a little bit each window

I think we all rate Scarlet and look frwd to him settling in. We can agree to disagree about Ladapo. He had his moments but I dont think he is Championship material. Neither is Harness. Leigh & Edwards I am sorry to see go.

After a shocker lets hope Williams gains confidence and establishes himself.

It wouldnt surprise me if Slicker soon moved into prime position.

How can we possibly know what Ladapo could do in the championship? He got a great tally last season, especially as he wasn’t a regular starter for much of the season.

If what I read is correct we had 25 players that count toward the squad limit but Edwards to Oxford is confirmed. That means we can now bring someone in.

EADT reporting that we’ll get a centre back in before the deadline tonight. Fingers crossed!

Bit disappointed that no centre back in. Think it’s 1 area that we’re a little light but in Kmc and the process we trust

Overall, I’d probably give our transfer business a 7/10. We spent the last couple of years bringing in what was essentially a Championship ready squad, but playing League One football, so we had a strong foundation.

Signing Hirst on a permanent was great business. Jack Taylor in central midfield could also be an inspired signing and provides further strength and a bit more creativity in central midfield. Slicker as third choice goalkeeper is a decent freebie, he’s looked alright in the cup games.

Loanee wise I’m a little underwhelmed with Scarlett as the other centre forward brought in. Hopefully he can show a goalscoring form we haven’t seen elsewhere, but then again a McKenna centre forward is expected to do more than just score goals and McKenna rates him. Hutchinson is a weird one, don’t rate him as highly as Edwards and they play in similar positions. Understand bringing in Williams with Leigh wanting first team football.

Disappointed we couldn’t bring in a centre back, especially as Edmundson is injury prone and Baggott was sent out on loan. We look a tad short of cover there, particularly if Burgess or Wolfenden get injured/have poor form.

Great summary Nuggets, although I'm a but more pleased with the signing of Scarlett, I'm hoping he's exactly the type of player we need to help us out.

Agree in regards to Hutchinson, such a shame Edwards has not been involved but if he wanted to go he wanted to go and to he fair to the lad I'm sure he'll feel a little aggrieved he didn't get more game time last season and he performed very well when ever I saw him.

Williams is an interesting one, clearly has a very high pedigree and isn't going to come here to sit on the bench bit who does he replace? Unless there is the possibility to sign these loan players which I don't think there is we have to be careful it doesn't cause disruption amongst the current squad. After a few dodgy moments it's clear the guy has quality but not sure how I feel about how many players we have who play on the opposite side to their preferred foot, the other night there was often acres of space down the wing and we very rarely exploited it because players cut in so much...again makes me miss Edwards as he was on of the only players I've seen who could genuinely go either way quite comfortably

I’d give it a 5/10 for signing Hirst alone - a brilliant signing. But… I’m not sure we’ve actually strengthened in any position. It’ll be interesting to see how this season pans out - nobody gave us a shot at being where we are in February and we may be equally delighted with this season. It’s a good squad and they’ll keep working and improving.
