Norwich City defender Javier Garrido on Twitter: "Exciting day today with transfer window finishing. Let's see how many surprises we got."

Hmmm.....

Can't believe Ozil to Arsenal seems to be happening, really surprised that United aren't trying to hijack that one.

ozil is a lovely footballer. over priced but that's what happens on the final day of the window. similar to kagawa though and united never play him!

meanwhile, i was a fan of kightly but he's never been the same since those horrendous injuries. surprised to see he played 26 times for stoke last year though. would be good back up to snoddy.

in other news, it seems as though quagliarella is staying at juventus, probably because llorente has flopped

Johnson tweeted something similar earlier too, fingers crossed they know something we don't!

I don't seriously expect us to be too involved today though, I think anyone incoming will be on loan.

i think you're reading too much into it! the players won't know.

troisi has been on trial with the club for a week but has left - not that that means he won't be signing, just that he's no longer on trial - so the kightly rumour may have legs and i personally would prefer that deal as i know diddly about troisi! <laugh>

Not sure how true this is, but I thought it was brilliant:

Cabaye won't be going to Arsenal. Mike Ashley let him listen in to telephone negotiations about the price, when Arsenal came up with the gem "£25m is a lot for a reserve" <doh>

You trying to set bait for me again DH? <laugh> (I guess I need to change my signature again; so maybe "If you'll believe that, you'll believe anything" would fit the bill.) <ok>

Not many rumours to report only that while away on business last week, I bumped into this guy in the Hotel bar who told me that he had just come back from holiday in Spain. While enjoying the sun sitting by the pool supping a sangria he spotted his mate from home sunbathing opposite. Small world and all that he thought, anyway to cut a long story short before his mate flew out he got talking to this other guy at the airport who told him that his brother's, sister-in-law's best friends brother had it on good authority from his best mate's barber who'd heard it from a cab driver that on deadline day City would be signing ......................................................................

Shola Ameobi ;)

Sessegnon to WBA is a big call by Di Canio, especially with so little time to replace him. (Assuming they haven't spent the money in advance)

I'm not even bothering to follow the link! <laugh> I loved the Arsenal fans chanting "What a waste of money" yesterday afternoon. Still, the fat lady is a long way off singing and it's anyone's guess how the season turns out. Anybody think Man City are going to be pressed to finish in the CL places? <ok>

i certainly wouldn't underestimate manchester city - pellegrini is a superb coach and in my opinion, the only reason they look a bit shaky at the moment is because kompany isn't fit. if they aren't in the top 3 come may next year i will wear my birthday suit to work. spurs are a more delicate beast as they have clearly had no time to work together yet. i think they looked incredibly disjointed yesterday and arsenal were much the better side but there were signs that if the individuals (who i happen to think are better than the arsenal equivalents in many cases) hit it off they will not only be top four but could challenge for the title. far, far too early to judge any teams yet. six games in will be the right time to start piecing together the title race but as it stands, the top six are sure to be the ones you'd expect - man utd, man city, arsenal, chelsea, liverpool, spurs, in no particular order.
