Listening to "big" Sam Allardyce today, West Ham have no more dosh unless they sell a player (which may be true). Juve would prefer to sell Quags rather than loan him so - bottom line - we may still be in there. We might also have more reason to push this one with EB being out for a while.

Also, am I the only one who thinks Toby A could still slip in before the window shuts?

Just found this link on twitter http://www.football-italia.net/38644/hammers-fight-norwich-quagliarella

Quags isn't the same type as JE but I take your point on him, YellowLittle. I still think Toby is a possibility as other erstwhile interested EPL clubs seemed to have moved on, at least visibly.

I completely agree, but they both are players who will look to create as well getting on the scoresheet. Elmander and Quagriella are both players who will link up probably more so than Hooper or RVW.

Going to be interesting to see if the Bennett injury (and Pilks') fast-tracks the Murphy's into first-team contention faster than expected. Our style is very dependent on wide men, but currently the only cover we've got is playing Whittaker and Olsson in slightly unusual positions, which may involve 6 defenders on the pitch! Surely we can't afford to risk Redmond and Snodgrass against League 2 Bury???

Think you might be right, that said that game looks prime to give then a senior debut anyway hopefully will be a good game to get Hooper and Elmader a run out too

Don't see why you say that it would involve playing Whittaker and Olsson in "slightly unusual positions". You must mean that you are unfamiliar with them playing wide midfield, because my belief is that both have played WM quite often in their careers. Olsson's Wiki page lists him as playing "Left back. Left midfield", while transfermkt list left midfield as his "secondary position". Whittaker played in the midfield when at Hearts early in his career, before being "converted" to established right back. But, if I remember rightly, Rangers supporters told us when he signed that he was actually better playing LM than at full back, because his particular strength was going forward. They regarded him as suspect defensively. <ok>

Today's BBC Football Gossip column contains NOT A SINGLE reference to Arsenal. This is due to Wenger spending 24 hours a day on his phone quashing any transfer rumours. <ok>

Am I right in thinking that both Pilks and Remond can play both sides?
To be fair Snoddy is not bad on the left either.
So with Pilks and Redmond normally on the left we could see Olsson and either of them with Snoddy and either of them on the right.
Add in the fact that Whittaker can play wing if need be, and that Fer did for some of preseason we actually have good cover!

A long as we get no more injuries!

I do wonder sometimes if carrabuh actually supports NCFC, maybe he's a spy! ;)

Carrabuh is one of the club's most steadfast and dedicated fans, 100% behind everything they do -- except whatever they happen to be doing at any given moment. Don't read anything into his current silence; he is probably on holiday collecting new sticks to beat Hughton with. <ok>

Whilst they've got secondary positions, they were both bought primarily as full-backs, and that's all we've seen Whittaker do at Norwich (not seen enough of Olsson yet). Whilst I'm sure they can do a job there, my concern is that they aren't going to terrify a full-back and look to beat their man in the way that our more natural wingers can. In our formation, the wingers are a big creative outlet, and I'd be concerned that Whittaker and Olssen can't offer that.

I think Redmond and Snodgrass can cover both sides, not sure about Pilks, but I imagine it wouldn't be too much of a stretch. Good to see people think we have enough cover though, although it wouldn't surprise me if a Murphy makes the bench every now and again.

Totally agree with that. His main problem (and several othe fans share the same problem), is that he doesn't feel CH should be our manager. I don't have a problem with that, as we're all entitled to our own opinions!!!!

True but I don't really get why some fans are so anti CH still, look at the signings!, I think some fans just like something to moan about.

carrabuh is just a moaner. he knows what he likes but his desire is so defined that the likelihood he'll ever be satisfied supporting a club like norwich is extremely remote. he moaned just as much under lambert so its hardly a surprise he moans under hughton too. he's basically a barcelona fan trapped in the body of a norwich fan. even when we play well he finds something to criticise

I am sure I have seen him on the right, and as he is two footed partly assumed he could play both.
