Haha, my entire family is not into football, I only caught on when I was 18 or so. I was never brought up with a favourite team, I just started watching because of the game. So that helps a bit to report the news unbiased <cheers>

No more Danny Dyer I got it, got a lot of grief on the board for including that video in my blog, problem is that he is the only one that made such a documentary who does it in English. Thought it would help to build some context around my article. No such luck.

 That's excellent!

Keep up the good work, always nice to know what's going on in other leagues from people in the know.

I know we did a lot of business early in the window but anyone else feel like even the rumours are drying up?
If we do get Elmander I can only really see us maybe be getting in a loan or two, maybe a CB and AM.

What do you guys think?

I don't think the rumours are drying up. Granted we may not get them, but I wouldn't be surprised if the likes of Toivonen, Alderweireld, and Quagliarella leave their clubs close to (if not on) deadline day, as they seek the best possible deal/location.

Furthermore, we have recently been linked with Elmander, Caracciolo, and Sørensen.

Sorry, but that was my reaction for the first 5 minutes when I read that. Sure he is maybe NEC's best player, but I hope you have read my blog in the last couple of days, then you'd know why I was laughing.

NEC may be performing poorly, but is Palsson worth a punt?

No, barely good enough for the Eredivisie. Has a bit of a temper and his tackling is piss poor which got him cautioned a couple of times. Very physical guy with decent technique. But an Eredivisie standard type player, nothing out of the ordinary.

Fair enough. Sounds as though the players we already have at our disposal (Johnson/Tettey/Fer) would do a better job for now. What about in terms of potential - obviously he had a spell with the Liverpool youth team so do you think he could be developed sufficiently to become a Premier League defensive midfielder?

I reckon we've got enough class in the squad already to have a pretty decent season and that any further additions will be icing on the cake. I can't wait until Saturday to see Fer and hopefully Hooper tear Hull to shreds, particularly if Snods and Seb are back to bring us near to full strength. Mind you were we to send out a full strength team to Hull and lose then I might be singing a slightly different tune!

At 22, and looking at the form the team is in and in the vicious spiral they're in right now, I can't see him improving much. He has some potential, but he has sort of peaked at NEC last year in the first half of the season. After that the entire team went down in morale and he went with. No progress shown in the past 9 months so my advice would be to stay clear, now and in the future.

i am slightly concerned that there may be some truth in the rumour about gudlaugur victor palsson as i know calderwood rates him highly. can't say i can recall seeing him play for hibs but he played plenty of games up there. i trust cove's judgement of the player.

A few sources seem to be saying Wet Sham are favourites to sign Quags now. I'd say it'd be an excellent signing for them. They are definitely in need of another striker.

Tend to agree with you Norfolkbhoy. I see that Seb played the full 90 minutes against Villa under 21s yesterday, so would really expect him and Fer to be in the starting 11 on Sat.
