True but if Beppe Marotta is meeting our rep Thursday then he must be interested in joining or he would just be meeting up with Southampton but I spose that's just the bid. Who knows what he thinks!

Personally I reckon that we will use the prospect of the Itialian with the scrabble-friendly name as a lever in the Hooper deal - this is our offer, if you're not interested then we're seeing this chap on Thursday so the ball is in your court. I would imagine that Hooper will be a NCFC player by the end of the week and if this is the case then I can only see us getting a loanee or youngster to develop as our 4th striker.
I am not too fussed about FQ - he would be a luxury player for me and I think for the future of the club Hooper is the next signing we need (or someone else of a similar age). If we were to sign both of them I wont be complaining but I wouldn't have thought its the best use of the money we have available.
That being said, I wont question any transfer decisions as I am already more than happy with how our transfer business is being carried out. We have picked up some serious value for money.

If Hooper signs by the end of the week then I say close that purse Delia and let the season start as we are ready.....
I am not sure the creative midfielder is as important as I first thought. If we dont bring anyone in other than a striker then I think the signing of Fer will free up Howson to compete with Hoolahan in the AM role which i would be quite happy with.
Also we may go 442 at times especially if Hooper signs.

My thoughts exactly. Howson showed in the last couple of games that, when let off his leash, he can be a very fine creative player.

Hi everyone, yet another lurker who finally has come out from the dark.
Just heard from a guy who works at the club (I know everyone says this!!) that by the end of this week we will most likely of signed two strikers, and Becchio is heading out on loan, which made me think maybe Becchio will go to Celtic on loan as part of the deal for Hooper? Not sure on any details as obviously he couldn't say too much, but was very sure of it

That deal makes sense to me and so it looks like Hooper and an italian to complete our business. How good is that?
It's a brilliant time of year, I love all the excited, especially now with the calibre of players we are being linked with!
And of course, I didn't think many would believe it for definite, I'm not 100% but its always interesting when you hear things from within the club, he has always been pretty accurate. Told me some interesting things about Holt's transfer as well.
