With Nash or another GK joining, City would have a 21 man active squad (as Redmond doesn't count). LB, CB, CM and striker could come in, making 8 signings in all without losing any of the current players other than Fox and Barnett. If CH sees Ayala as the 4th CB (given that Martin can play there as well), there is still considerable money left for those remaining 3 players.

I think nursey is right with the problems were currently having with the others, toivonen doesn't want to come and Celtic dont want to sell Hooper.

Maybe it's a ploy to tell Celtic hurry up or you will most likely miss out on some money...

For what its worth I think Redmond is a great signing for you guys, especially for the fee quoted. As i said before, I don't reckon you will see him starting a huge amount of games (a lot of sub appearances though) but is defo one for the future and patience is needed with him next season.

what's nice about that deal is that it shows the pull hughton has. if he was such a ****e manager as you, or indeed carrabuh would have us believe, why would a young, exciting player, who is extremely talented and has worked with the guy before, choose to rejoin him?

i quote: “He was very influential on my career at Birmingham, he gave me the chance to play and the chance to express myself every time that I stepped on to the field and I feel like on the bigger stage he’ll do exactly the same thing."

hmm...

My view on Hughton hasn't changed, I think he is very limited tactically. Just because a player likes him and gave him a chance doesn't mean he is the next sir Alex. Prime example - Darklord and Sunderland players. <ok>

One thing is for certain, next season it will very much be 'Hughton's Team' so a few of your fans will be expecting a more fluid style. but certainly exciting times for you guys.

This was also true of Ryan Bennett, who - due to the injury late in the season to Michael Turner, got his chance and boy, did he take it <ok>
But he was brought in as a longer term addition to the ranks.

All I can say is how good to be in a position to bring young players with potential to the club to continue their development (and to prevent the opposition stealing a march on us by getting to them first).

A far cry from the dark days of Mr Chase, where anything not nailed down was seen as an instant saleable asset, should a rival club show interest <doh>

I missed where Supers wrote that Hughton was going to be the next SAF - did he delete that from his original post before I saw it?

Anyone else noticed that whilst our transfer thread has had in excess of 1600 replies the boys down the A140 have scraped together the princely sum of.....wait for it......20.

Possibly says all you need to know about the difference between us and them currently. We are buying international quality strikers and top English prospects and being linked will a number of quality players and they are trawling round the Sunday Leagues looking to strengthen.

Not too exciting speculating about getting hold of the Dog and Duck's reserve keeper I suppose unless they are all on holiday whereas we suckers are all still working.

Maybe, but I think it's more about Trolling than anything else. Trying to get an argument going!
