When Lamberts was here am I right in thinking he played Steer for the cup games? So whilst it maybe 1st choice week in week out better than only playing in the developent squad surely?

Going back to Robbie's Squad list I've added brackets to those who could be leaving:

Goalkeepers
John Ruddy
Mark Bunn

Defenders
Russell Martin
Steven Whittaker
Sébastien Bassong
Michael Turner
Ryan Bennett
(Dani Ayala)
(Leon Barnett)
Javier Garrido

Midfielders
Bradley Johnson
Alexander Tettey
Robert Snodgrass
Jonny Howson
Andrew Surman
Anthony Pilkington
Wes Hoolahan
Elliott Bennett
(David Fox)
Jacob Butterfield

Forwards
Grant Holt
Rikki Van Wolfswinkel
Luciano Becchio
(James Vaughan)

I think Barnett will be off to Cardiff when the window opens, and I suspect that Fox will move on as well which brings the squad down to 22. Ayala and Vaughan may also move on, which would make 20. With RvW already in, and Garrido signed on that could mean 6 or 7 changes from the 6-8 DM mentioned. It could be that Butterfield goes out on loan again, which would allow for the 8. the situation seems a bit uncertain about Surman as well.

IMO, CH can go for quantity of quality from this point. Clearly he is interested in Toivenon at around £5m, but if the rumour of Naughton and/or Livermore on loan is true, 3 of the 5 spaces would be gone. Redmond, if it happens, would be 4 which would leave the last place for a striker or CB. It may be that CH feels Martin provides enough cover at CB. It's still all possibilities, but interesting all the same!

We didn't have Bunn at that point though, who I think would feel very hard done-by if next season he's not even getting cup games, after doing fairly well for us for over half the season.

Oh, and RER, I believe Redmond is still U21, which helps. Looking at other forums, there's an awful lot of fans who want him at their clubs, which could make him pricey.

i think you'll be looking at £6m for redmond, i really do. bags of potential, english, lots of clubs bidding... i know the word on the street is £3-4m will secure him but i think it'll be much higher, especially if davies leaves for hull as it will make any sale less imperative for the brummies. gut feeling says we won't be his destination but we'll see!

"Could be"? Of the players you mention, only Barnett and Vaughan are known to be actively interesting other clubs as far as I am aware. The rest are just speculation on our part. If Surman's operation has been successful I would actually be surprised to see him leave. Also, DM's figure of 6 to 8 may include those we already know about (including the two yougsters). So while I agree we can expect more signings, don't let's get carried away! Two or three more maybe (including a goalkeeper if Jed Steer does go), that's my guess. <ok>

Can't see Barnett going to Cardiff now, they need better. Would be a great signing for a championship team though.

There is no way we would be spending that type of money on a player from that part of the world. I think our targets are starting to become a bit clearer now and we know the sort of fees we will be paying.

Just to add, that Twitter accounts picture is of American sports agent Joel segal lol

Looking on their board, they still actually seem pretty keen on him. I suppose it's all about improving the squad incrementally, and not upsetting things like QPR did. Barnett did well for them, and is already known around the squad. He'll probably be pretty cheap too and allow them to focus on other areas.

Back in the real world...........

Last I heard Toivenen was discussing personal terms with us, anyone have anymore info?

Can you believe that just six of that squad were with us when we got promoted? Shows how quickly we rebuild - Hoolahan and Holt are now our longest serving players.
