Oh this is good:

BBC Sport said:
"Some bizarre reports coming out regarding United's collapsed Herrera deal. Apparently a group of men claiming to be United representatives spent an hour at the La Liga offices in Madrid today, but it turns out they had nothing to do with the club and were presumably just attempting to get a cut of the deal in an elaborate fraud.

"Must be stressed these are just rumours but the Spanish media have published pictures of men in black suits - supposedly the United "representatives" - coming out of the league offices carrying briefcases.

"All very strange and no doubt the truth will come out in the next few days."

I know it's a lot of money, and it's probably not the position that Arsenal need to strengthen the most (I'm amazed they haven't brought in a CB and a striker) but Arsenal have got themselves one hell of a player there and I cannot wait to see him play. Makes you wonder though, apparently Madrid seem to think Bale is £40m better than Ozil, just seems barmy if you ask me.

I wonder how much a 24 year old Ryan Giggs would be worth in today's market?

Tweet from EDP website from McNally - "No incoming players for #ncfc tonight, all of the work completed earlier in the Summer @NorwichCityFC"

Didn't see your earlier post beef!!!

I think West Sham wanted a transfer fee for Vaz Te and not just loan him out, I'm glad we didn't sign him though I wouldn't have been against bringing him in on loan as cover for six months or so. I would have really liked Nick Powell on loan, but I'm certainly not grumbling that we've not signed anyone today, the superb business that we have done this summer will do very nicely thanks <ok>

By the way, no signings for 'arry today? That's got to be a first, it's not a proper transfer deadline day without at least one interview from out his car window.

Have Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Tom Carroll not been confirmed yet? BAE tweeted he was joining QPR.

As Granty Holts has just put it on twitter, can someone please, please get Joe-"Judge me on my signings"-Kinnear on a telephone interview...<laugh>

Didn't catch the name, but Palace have confirmed their 16th summer signing, coming from Forest. That's an awful lot of players to bed in.

If Fellaini is ManUre's only big signing this window then I personally reckon they've got no chance of retaining the title this season. They should have signed him weeks ago before that minimum fee release clause expired and then concentrated on a top, top quality centre-midfielder. Very poor from them in my opinion, they'll come out of this looking stupid.
At least after all the drama Arsenal managed to smash their transfer record and bring in one of the best players on the planet on his position.

Man Utd making a late loan bid for Fabio Coentrao??? Allegedly Fellaini will go through, not sure that's enough though.

Sky Italia reckon United made a £40m bid for Bayern's Javi Martinez.
