The advantage we has here is if Gary hooper does sign for QPR it tells us about the psychology of the player and that we didn't want him anyway. It's in Gary's hands now, I'd still want him I think he'd be an excellent player for us.
According to the wonderful paper.. the sun! Chelsea's final offer for Ruddy was 7mil +2mil in add ons and a player on loan. If that's true, then well done again to the board and another real show of intent from them.
I have to say, Hughton is obviously looking to sign a player who can play in behind RvW but is also an option up top if needs be. How about another name in the hat, one who has been told he is free to leave the club.... Clint Dempsey I know he's gone off the boil at Spurs, but he thrived in that position for Fulham and would be terrific just behind RvW! Thoughts??
Yeah he'd probably want paying ;-). I have no idea what he's on at Spurs but if he would be willing to take 30k p/w I think you'd get a excellent 3 years out of him 'in the hole'.
If were supposedly ready to offer 40k p/w for FQ then I would say Dempsey would be offered similar, depending on what hes on at Spurs.
I get the feeling Hoopers agents are complete knobbers and this may be holding up a transfer. They are on twitter and seem to believe they are characters from the only way is Essex, fake tans all round and lots of posing with "celebrities" in night clubs.
Yes, it is well known that the English spoken in the North East states of the US in particular preserves much that has been lost in the "modern" language (which may come as a surprise to those who constantly complain about the Americanisation of English). Still leaves us with the problem of how to translate "scrimmage" though. Maybe with our increasingly high profile, the word will be incorporated into other languages worldwide as a loan word .
Doesn't it depend on Celtic too? Like QPR are offering them more money they will accept their offer and not ours. You'd think Hooper would want to play premier league football.
All this Dutch lingo is very interesting but can it be in a thread elsewhere instead of clogging up a transfer rumours thread?
Depends if Hooper has any interest in QPR. They can accept QPR's offer, but if Hooper refuses to go, or says he can't agree personal terms, then Celtic may be forced to fall back on our offer, even if it's slightly lower.
especially if he thinks hes good enough for a world cup shot. And when wellbeck is, you've got to fancy your chances! i'd be interested to know what our projected wages to income ratio is being set at for this coming year. I imagine we've creeped above the 50% mark now, but i'd like to not by too much.
I doubt if Dempsey would be prepared to take only a "supposed" £40k p/w ICHB If, as I posted earlier, we couldn't meet Toby Alderweireld's expectations in that respect, we are unlikely to get FQ or anyone else in the same bracket unless we offer something they want more important to them than a final pay day.
Ah ok, that makes sense. You'd think with the players we're bringing in and in the top flight, we look more of an attractive offer.
