The Blues are aiming to land the 27-year-old before today's 5pm deadline after he's fallen down the pecking order at the Premier League outfit. Kenny Jackett was the man to take the former Cardiff man to Molineux in 2016, for a fee said to be in the region of £3m. Mason has been with MLS side Colorado Rapids on loan after agreeing a move in February. The striker scored 22 goals in 60 league starts for Cardiff, which was followed up with eight in 39 Wolves appearances. He also had a stint on loan with Burton Albion last season. Mason's existing contract runs until next summer. He is 5' 10" in height.
Striker Joe Mason has completed a six-month loan move to League One side Portsmouth. The striker has 39 Wolves appearances and seven goals to his name after joining the club in January 2016. Mason, who spent time away with Burton Albion and Colorado Rapids last season, hasn’t featured for Wolves under Nuno Espirito Santo. He joins a Portsmouth side who’ve enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season in League One, winning four of their opening five fixtures. Pompey face Plymouth Argyle at Fratton Park on Saturday and Mason will not be eligible to feature. ** Above on Wolves official site **
