We are now being linked with Wigan striker Devante Cole (son of Andy), as well as Wigan winger Ryan Colclough.

Newcastle attacking midfielder Sean Longstaff has apparently stated that he would like to join Pompey on loan.

I'd still rather keep hold of Chaplin.

Agree with you MAJR. But, I have read that a deal for Conor to join Coventry has already been agreed, and Pompey are merely waiting to sign a replacement before that happens.

Pompey duo Dan Smith and Bradley Lethbridge have moved to Bognor Regis on loan. The teenage strikers’ switch to Nyewood Lane was finalised after the Blues’ 5-1 friendly victory over the Rocks last night.

Both Smith and Lethbridge featured in Pompey XI’s comfortable victory in West Sussex last night. Third-year scholar Smith, 18, spearheaded Mark Kelly’s side’s attack

The Warsash talent netted the Blues’ fifth goal on 84 minutes. After spinning away from a defender, he fired home from an acute angle into the top near-post corner. Meanwhile, Lethbridge – a second-year scholar who hails from Gosport – was handed a 64-minute run-out at Nyewood Lane. The 17-year-old assisted Adam May for the visitors’ opener, while he also had two long-range efforts go close.

Smith and Lethbridge will work under former Pompey first-team coach Robbie Blake, who is now in a similar role at the Rocks.

    Portsmouth recruit young Croatia keeper.

Pompey have completed the signing of promising keeper Petar Durin. The 17-year-old Croat has joined from Italian side Atalanta and is viewed by the Blues as a player for the future.

Durin, which can also be written as Djurin, played for Atalanta’s under-17s last season and has signed a three-year Fratton Park deal. The Zagreb-born player will now challenge for a spot in Mark Kelly’s Academy set-up as his development continues.

Pompey are apparently interested in signing 27 year old Brighton midfielder Richie Towell, on loan initially with a view to a permanent move.

Born in Dublin, he came through Glasgow Celtic's academy, and spent last season on loan at Rotherham where he scored 5 goals in 39 appearances. He is a former Republic of Ireland Under 21 international.

Pompey have signed David Wheeler on a season-long loan deal from QPR.

The 27-year-old winger will wear the number 22 shirt during his time at Fratton Park.

Blues boss Kenny Jackett said: “He’s an attacking wide player, who can be used on either side and has an impressive goalscoring record.

“He hasn’t quite made the breakthrough at QPR, but had a number of seasons at Exeter and was very keen to come here.

“It’s our first loan signing and supplements the good base of our own players that is already here.

“We’re pleased to bring his attacking qualities into our group and are grateful to QPR for letting him come here.”

Wheeler joined QPR from Exeter 12 months ago and has scored one goal in nine appearances for the Championship outfit.

The former England Schoolboys international played youth team football with Brighton, then began his senior career by featuring for Lewes and Staines.

He signed for Exeter in the summer of 2013 following a successful trial and played a total of 171 times, finding the target on 39 occasions.

Wheeler’s final season with the Grecians included a run of eight goals in seven successive games, while he also hit the net at Wembley in a play-off final defeat.

He twice grabbed winning goals against Pompey at Fratton Park, settling encounters in September 2015 and January 2017.

Awful shade of blue. The shirt need to be a much darker shade of blue. When it was suggested by a former director that navy blue could be an option, some fans were up in arms. Why aren´t they over this particular one? It is terrible.

Portsmouth have signed Millwall midfielder Ben Thompson on loan until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has made 93 appearances for the Lions since his debut in August 2014, but has failed to cement a starting place in the Championship.

Thompson featured 36 times as Neil Harris' side reached the League One play-off final in 2015-16, and 47 times the following season.

Pompey boss Kenny Jackett said: "Ben's a good all-round midfielder."

Portsmouth are interested in signing Paul Smyth on loan from QPR.

Smyth, 20, moved to west London from Linfield a year ago and impressed after breaking into the side last season, scoring on his debut against Cardiff City in January.

He has started just one of Rangers’ five matches under manager Steve McClaren this season, against Sheffield United, and was substituted at half-time.
Pompey, managed by former QPR assistant boss Kenny Jackett, therefore believe the Northern Ireland Under-21 forward might be allowed to leave Loftus Road on loan.

It has been reported that 20 year old winger Andre Green is set to join Pompey on loan from Aston Villa. He has represented England from under-16 to under-19 level. 5' 11" tall, and very highly rated.

Presume that when he arrives, Conor Chaplin will sign on loan to either Coventry or Barnsley, with a view to a permanent transfer in January.

    Andre Green Arrives On Loan.

Pompey have signed winger Andre Green on loan from Aston Villa.

The deal sees the 20-year-old England youth international join the Blues for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.

Blues boss Kenny Jackett said: “We’re really pleased to bring Andre in on loan, as he has fantastic attacking potential – with pace, close control and the ability to go past people.

“There’s a degree of flexibility as well because he can play out wide or through the middle. I think he’ll fit in very well here.”

Green is a graduate of Villa’s academy and made his senior debut in a Premier League clash with Tottenham back in March 2016.

He has gone on to make 31 appearances, opening his goalscoring account in last season’s 4-2 home victory over Norwich.

Green – who has featured five times in the current campaign – has represented the Three Lions up to under-20 level.

    Conor Chaplin Moves To Coventry
Loan move will become permanent in January.

Conor Chaplin has completed a move to League One side Coventry.

The 21-year-old striker has initially joined them on loan until January, when the move will become permanent for an undisclosed fee.

Chaplin said: “Playing for Pompey was an absolute dream for me. I’ve got some great memories that will last forever.

“I want to thank the fans and everyone else who has supported me during my many years at the club.”

Blues boss Kenny Jackett added: “Conor’s a terrific character and has been searching for regular football.

“The signing of Andre Green means we have plenty of power along our front line now and gives us plenty of options.

“That allowed us to grant Conor his wish. He was in the final year of his contract here and eager for a fresh start.

“I understand that and everyone here at Pompey wishes him the very best for the future at his new club.”

Chaplin is a graduate of the Blues academy, who made his senior debut in a home defeat to Accrington back in December 2014.

A first goal arrived at Morecambe a few months later, while he played a key role in Pompey’s memorable League Two title success in 2016/17.
