Most of these names mean nothing to me, which of course is more a matter of my ignorance than any reflection on the ability of the players mentioned.

All I want, whoever might be signed, is for the same people who signed Alderete for £12m to be in charge of the signings. A lot of good things have been done this summer, but those responsible for signing that lad, for that price, should now be in a dark and damp jail for robbery.

But Alderete man. Just my type of centre half! One incident today, the ball came towards him and a Brentford forward. Alderete gives him one serious heavy dig in the ribs. No foul (!), he plays the ball away, and the forward gets slowly up after the event.

I think he’s great. One of the best presenters on the circuit, I particularly like him on the Monday Night Club on 5live but enjoy his contributions to everything he’s on. Seems a great lad too.

Personally I'd rather we spent big on a winger than a CF. I think we're light in quality on the wing whereas our strikers are already congested in terms of competing for one place.

I also think the lads we currently have are good enough and all offer something different.
